Got the email about the revenue adjustment, looked at my reports for the day, right on par. Thank you for not giving us the run-around with excuses and short paying revenue.

Checked bank account to see a Parked.com Trade Pay deposit ahead of schedule.

Yeah, that's classy! *everyone* has glitches from time to time, but not many will go out of their way to compensate like this. Plus, you knew they were working their asses off when things went haywire... Folks that man the battle stations during a hurricane tend to work like that

the first downtime is OK, but this downtime also make revenue down as well.

donny, could parked get second (backup) plan to make parked always running forever ?

Dian - The first downtime we had a few weeks ago just didn't allow you to login. Yesterday for 2 hours, 59 minutes, 19 seconds, nobody could visit your site, so you didn't make any money. We paid everybody as we were up.

We currently have over $4 million dollars of servers that comprise Parked.com. With another million dollars of servers on order. Every company has downtimes, it's all about how you can limit the downtime. We have backups of backups, but sometimes something out of your control dies like one of Cisco IPS's, and the live backup decides it doesn't want to automatically take over when the other one went down. It's one of those things that your network guys tell you could happen 1 in 5,000,000. So we have another 50 million years before that could happen again, so we ordered 3 more today, just in case.

When you draw out the perfect design of a infrasture like we have with Parked, everything is perfect until you enter the real world and things break, people trip over cords, hillbillies blow up your fiber with a shotgun, you get hit with a massive DOS attack.

We do the best that we can, and 99.999% of the time we have 0 problems. And when we do have problems, we compensate for those problems.

Only if hosting companies would pay for their downtime! LOL Those of us who run websites could only wish for such great uptime AND be compensated when it does go down.

"Hey xyz hosting company, my server was down for three hours. My websites made no revenue. I should be compensated."

Server company response - "hahahaaahaaha"

Received the email with a fair compensation amount. This is extreme professionalism. If I were to vote for the best domain parking option (for US/Canada/UK traffic), it would have to be parked. For adult names, PP would be the best there is.

Great stuff Donny. Appreciate the good rapid work by your dedicated team.

I added some content using the new feature to a few of the domains I have A LOT of traffic going through. I'll report results when I can, but I want to ask if other people are seeing an increase in CTR or decrease in CTR.

Custom Pages

Just thought it'd be fun to share some CUSTOM MADE "websites" now that we have the 'Custom Content' editor from Donny and Parked! :tu:

Same question here. Just what can you put in as custom content? Are
you supposed to add it with HTML or just plain text? Couldn't find any
mention of this in the "help" section.

Also, what about landers. I just tried parked this week. Is the two page
lander standard? Anyway of having a one page lander?

There's an option to add content now on the bottom left of the "edit" page. The editor doesn't interpret HTML tags so you have to use plaintext, but there are options for font editing and adding links, tables, lists, blockquotes, images ...

Thanks for that info. Just where does the content appear on the landing page? Can someone give me a link to a parked page they have with custom content?

Also - if links can be added what type of links are allowed or not allowed?

enlytend - I'll add the ability today if possible, that is the ability to set the h1/h2 tags.

packrat - Right now there is no option to add via html or to add javascript. But you can save for example create a page in dreamweaver or something similiar, preview the page and copy and paste the generated page. If you need an example, I can give you one real quick.

Today the content shows up on the landing page and the results page. Maybe in a few weeks you will have the ability to say that you want version 1 to show on the landing page and version 2 to show on the results page.
