Footer carry a lot of importance for seo ranking.

The rule with crawlers is that they give most importance to header and footer of ur website. They treat them like a code in any program and you know that if u miss a bracket at the end of the program it will fail and thus there is a greater chance that ur site wont be higher on the list.It is very important that your footer has an equal keyword density like the content of ur site...

Thats why now in web 2.0 we see many websites with bigger and better footers rather than the traditional copyright yournamedomain.com all rights reserved sig..

The best way to have ur footer is yoursite.com keyword or small tag of ur site with a link to most important topic on ur site.

Anywhere from 12-18% of all surfers turn off their Javascript or simply do not have Javascript. You should always offer a hard-coded NOSCRIPT alternative to Javascript if you use it, but if you parse QueryString data you can make some guesses at what other content you have to offer that visitors to your page may be interested in. That is, you can program your margin and footer navigation to offer alternative content based on queries people use to find your page in search engine.

In other words, if people consistently hit the wrong page on your site from one particular search engine (or 2 or 3), you can give them customized margin/footer text to help them find the right page. This way you don’t redirect, you don’t hide anything, and you don’t break any search engine guidelines. But this method is not a substitute for good internal linkage — it’s just a fix for long tail queries that end up on the wrong page.

This tool may also help with over-optimized root URLs. Most people make the mistake of asking for links back to their root URLs. If you’re getting all sorts of search traffic to the home page, you can write context-sensitive margin and footer links and promote the content that people need to see without impacting your standard navigation.

Regarding the alternate traffic destination I am not 100% sure but if u dont set one it will show the default page without any ads is my guess..

the alternate destination url was for when yahoo didn't wan't your traffic gambling, trademark, violence etc... you could send it to an alternate destination so your traffic wasn't wasted, now that parked has multiple feeds yahoo as the primary and ask as one of the backups it isn't really needed as those 2 feeds alone pretty much cover anything, I'm sure there are a few cases where domains could still use it but they would probably be domains that nobody wishes to monetize if rejected by yahoo and a google feed.

the footer section would be used for custom handwritten content that you could add if you wish which may help in search engine placement or make your pages possibly stand out as unique from others without it, example... phpscripts.com

So you're saying it's important to insert a link to to most important topic on my site, and this link... I'm guessing the anchor will be my keyword?

If I have 2 domains (widget1.com and widget2.com) parked, Can I insert a link at the footer to point to each other? Is this against the TOS?

Nice page you got there. So one of the uses of footer is to distinguish yourself from the rest of the parked pages. Make your page unique and look less like a parked page.

that's actually one of Donny's domains, yes the footer is used to add your own custom content and help have unique text on your site for the search engines to grab, sometimes this works great on domains and other times less is more, as too much information can sometimes bring less clicks if they have no reason to search for information if you provide 100% of it, gotta experiment and see what works best for your domains, I always called domain sponsors berlin lander the ugliest thing I have ever seen but on some domains you would be amazed at how many users search that ugly plain search box page with no graphics at all, it's work to figure out what works best for your domains and you gotta experiment and go where the $ is.

I was just talking to one of fellow domainers/namepros member from dubai and I asked him to take a look at one of the domain for the type of ads that it was serving and I was surprised at the page that it served and so was he.....


Anyone can explain ?

Hmm...this IS interesting...I'm also concerned since we own a great deal of "international" domains also!

I see the normal page from the U.S., have to ask donny when he gets back or send a message to your account rep from inside your account, I have no clue unless dubai is being blocked, I'm not in dubai so someone from dubai would have to check another 1 to see if that is the case.

The same thing happened when i asked one of my friend from india to have a look at one of my other domain and he said it showed banned banned banned all over the page In india but I thought he was just pulling my leg..The fact that it was a .co.in domain...

I just wanted to drop into this thread and offer a thank you for the improvements the Parked.com team has made recently. I have not actively added to my portfolio of domains and have not touched a single name in my Parked portfolio in many months. I have watched the recent changes by monitoring this thread and finally decided to make some much needed changes to my parked domains. I was impressed most with the quality of the pictures that have been updated at Parked. In the past I felt many of them seemed to be outdated. I have been very impressed with the recent changes.

I updated some of the pictures and used the keyword tool to better optimize my pages. The time involved with this was minimal and the increase in CTR has been very noticable.

I will be increasing my investment in domains at Parked.com over the coming year. I have no doubt that Parked.com is the company that I want to be partnered with over the long term.

Dodge is a bit bland. The refi site is great! I have yet to manage to get an image to the left and text to the right or vice versa.

Get the dodge site a bit more "spectacular".

This is because meanwhile.com is Parked.com's all catch entry.

When the country of origin of traffic is unknown and Parked.com's feed provided still ask parked to pay you that is when u see meanwhile.com. U can hardly do anything about it but rest assured if anyone else anywhere in US canada or other places type that domain URL they will directly see the url but not the meanwhile.com thingy ....

I don't get it. I have also visited Parked pages of other domainers in this forum and the pages show widge.com, without the meanwhile.com in the URL.
