Good Weekend At Parked :)
Saturday was...well... in between "below par to acceptable" but Sunday was great! If only every day would be like that. :)

Was wondering if anyone could help with a issue with a domain i just registered.

I just registered privatization(.)in and i went to check my page (which i do just to make sure i like it....habit i picked up at another service which dosen't have a preview button) and the page looks nothing like a Parked template.

It even shows the expiration date at the top, which is spot on.

Any ideas.BTW,just registered a heap of other names with the same registra and they all resolve to a Parked template.

Hey Jason, just checked it from this part of the world and it looks good.

xxfireflyxx,

I just checked it from the U.S. and it looks like a great Parked.com page - nice colors, great image, and good keywords.

Donny, I've got one 'Improperly formatted/Unsupported domain' which I am trying to park. It's a .jpn.com, is it possible to add support for this second level domain, or is it a subdomain?

I thought Sunday would be a bad day because of the Nascar final and NFL but high RPC after final stats made it a good day

CoolMark - We only support valid gtlds and cctlds. If you add jpn.com that's fine, but if you are trying to add blabla.jpn.com that's not valid.

texasgamer - Good luck.

netmeg - We found the problem, it may be fixed already, but I haven't gotten a confirmation yet as I was in a meeting almost all day long.
And thanks for the details.

Donny

Thanks!

I have another question, this time about the meanwhile.com stuff. I have some detox and rehab type names, and when I look at them, they have the http://meanwhile.com/?domain=mydomain.com showing in the address bar. I'm wondering if this is because the particular substance is part of the domain name (not trademarked, it's a generic) and Yahoo doesn't want to show the ad because they think it might be pharmaceutical? I've run into this before with Google, and I always have to request exceptions because obviously I'm not a pharmacy and don't have a pharmacy ID.

Just wondering, because I have a bunch more of these domains, but I'm not sure if this means they aren't going to work at Parked, or what.

netmeg - Just send me the domains and I will let you know. It's amazing sometimes what domains they do and don't want.

Donny, I'm trying to add YouTube video like you did with your php site. How do I embed the url in the custom content portion?

Thanks!

Okey doke - here is step by step.

First of all, I'm using IE7 on Vista Home.

I log in to my account, select Portfolios, and go into the particular Portfolio in which I have the domains I want to edit. I select a domain, and click on edit (generally I open this in a separate window)

Say my domain is using the template Bill Payment, and I want to change it to Bankruptcy. I select Bankruptcy from the drop down box, and the Bankruptcy template appears on my screen. I then click on the Save Changes button, the page reloads, there appears in red at the top of the page "Successfully updated domain", but the template is set BACK to Bill Payment, not the Bankruptcy template I chose and thought I saved. If I actually type in the domain to look at it, it still displays Bill Payment.

Now. If I repeat the above steps up to the point where the new template first appears on my screen (Bankruptcy, in this case) and INSTEAD of clicking on Save Changes, I click on Customize Template, and then, WITHOUT ANY FURTHER CUSTOMIZATIONS, directly click on the SAVE CUSTOMIZATIONS button, the window again refreshes, and I get a message that says Done: Customizations Complete! I click on the link to close the window; at this point my changes actually are saved, and the domain is now running the Bankruptcy template.

I hope that's enough detail to help recreate it.

UPDATE: I just tried to change a template in Firefox 2.0.0.9, and it works perfectly. Normally I use Firefox, but I have to do a lot of copy and pasting at the moment, and Firefox doesn't like to give you access to the clipboard without modifying the internals, and this is a new laptop, I haven't done that yet. So I was using IE7. So in short, I can re-create the problem every time in IE7, but it works just as it's supposed to in Firefox 2. Haven't tried Safari on my Mac yet, but I will, and will also try on a Windows XP laptop, just to see.

Netmeg, I was having the same type of problem you were. My domain is DubaiAdult and it wont let me change the template even after following your instructions. It also lets me change the keyword and succesfully save it but when i go to the site its all adult ads. Is the keyword and template hardcoded because of the domain name?

My macau gaming and casino names are doing this as well and the city name last time I checked. Targeting gambling and a porn picture pops up. It does allow me save keyword but not image.

Don't know what to do.

I'm seeing the domain title edit bug now as well.

And Donny your trouble ticket system needs a trouble ticket of its own. ;) It's generating: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare ticket_get()

Thanks!

Since moving my domains to parked i have had a monumental improvement in ctr:

DubaiSwinger.com (44 visitors+27 clicks)=$5.07 in 4 days. This is how much I made in a month w/adsense

I guess the ads are more relevant.

Ok peter then here it is:.....

My income at parked for the last 14 days in more than my combined income at Bodis for september and october.

I have half the no of clicks then I had at Bodis. Plus now I really know that how many times a visitor really clicks when he is on the website...

BOTTOMLINE : I LOVE PARKED.COM

I'm thinking about moving my names to Parked from Bodis but I hope I won't get rejected if I apply.

I have a little over a dozen names at Parked now, for about a week, and I am LOVING IT. They actually have CUSTOMER SUPPORT! They actually answer emails and PMs, and as you can see from Donny's presence here, they answer forum posts as well.

There domain management pages are really logical and extensive (albeit with a few odd glitches), and their templates look great. The parked pages also get tremendous CTR.

What more can I say?

Oh, I know -- they pay twice a month 7 days after the end of the period. I do not have proof of that, as my first payment is not due until tomorrow. That is their stated policy any way.

You should Capitalize the "P" in privatization(.)in...this will increase your CTR slightly Jason. ;)

I must say that I love Parked too. I have 25 recently regged .ca domains making
about $18/day - that's about 90% of total revenue, and that's with only about
150 visitors a day. The stats are also great - it's so much easier to optimize and
customize my domains when I can see where the traffic is coming from and what
keywords visitors are using.

The only change I'd like to see is the stock templates changed to get rid of the
ugly colors used for the related 1,2 and 3 headings. I think it would be better
if these colors were at least set to match the main header color so that the
default template would be monochromatic. My customized monochomatic landing
pages seem to be working well.

Other than that Parked is awesome!
