The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Hopefully by the end of next week you will also have the ability to have another new option for customers to contact you. We plan to make available the ability to have a form as well. So you will now have 3 choices. #1, email, #2, a link to another site, and #3, a form and we will automatically send you an email. Hopefull this will add a few more sales as well.

Hey Donny,

Thanks for being so accessible and keeping on top of member questions and concerns. You Rock!

Even though NamePros doesnt allow domains live links to any parking service pages in sigs, does Parked.com have a specific rule concerning this?

Peace,
Cy

Cy,
My policy has always been based on volume. If somebody is listing a domain to get a little SE linkage, I don't really care. But if every click or hit a domain gets is from that link, then I do care.

Cy,

Again no offense on this one but I can't see reference to this policy on namepros. This is what it says in the general rules.

Signatures need to be set up in your profile. Signatures should contain no more than 4 lines. Please keep your signatures at a reasonable size. Do not place URL's or links to sites that contain explicit, vulgar, sexually-orientated, or obscene content in your signatures. Signatures may not contain any font larger than size 2.

Would this apply to Bodis and Parked sites that have content added? If thats the policy I think it should be listed somewhere so people don't break the rules.

I'm asking this because using the Namepros sig could help in the SERPs for some terms and it would help get a site indexed. As Donny noted its all about helping the SERPs and Parked.com pages with content can do quite nice in MSN and Yahoo SERPs.

Thanks
db

Thebutler,

No problem, I'm glad you asked.

The thing is we have to keep it consistant.
When the rule was implemented, there were less than 10,000 members.
Most understood it was against TOS of Sedo, Fab, DS, etc not to have live links pointing to parking pages in sigs or posts. It was doing the members a favor, even if they didnt know it.

We have to keep the big picture in mind. What is best for the community as a whole. :tu:

Different Parking services have unique TOS.
Now we cannot allow some and not others, it would be a nightmare having to explain this every time. Why him and not me, why this and not that, why them and not them, bla bla bla.

I'll ask Admin to add it to the FAQ's so we can show it. :sold:

Peace,
Cy

Hi Cy

If the policy of the program was intended to protect those within namepros and now adays some parking programs might welcome or at least allow a name in someones sig. It might be a good thing to change the policy some??

I mean if someone is placing a domain or two just to have a link for the serps to pickup on and the parking co says its ok to do so. Can namepros allow it??

Honest I see names in sigs all the time and when clicking them it goes to a parked domain. I know when a mod catches it, its gets taken care of.

Just it seems that if XYZ parking co says its ok to have a few domains in a sig then I'd hope name pros can say OK

Do we gotta butter up RJ to make it happen

If so

RJ is the best
RJ rocks
RJ: name pros is the finest domain market place on the internet :]

Hi everyone

Had a nice surprise!

I saw my finalized parked stats today from yesterday and one of my best names with traffic and clicks happens to be a porn name.

Huge increase compared to my averages. I will take this but my clicks were lower then usual.

Has anyone seen a huge increase per click in this area?

Donny can you comment on this weather its a one day jump or porn names changed a feed?

Had a rollar coaster year as a whole and was a nice sign. Keep up the great work donny and parked.

Cheers

J

Jeff,
I looked at 2 big adult domains that we own, one stayed the same on RPC and the other went up 1 cent on the RPC yesterday. We didn't add any new feeds yesterday, even though we do plan on adding an additional feed next week. Not sure how well it will add to the bottom line until it happens though.

Then again Yahoo and Google could announce something and include their partners like us and then things will be fun again.

Thanks in response donny.

I will PM you the name.

Another feed?? Wow.

I was just curious. This name gets mostly international traffic from Germany and etc. Was just shocked some. Hope it can continue!!

Per click when up over 6 times my average. I am a happy camper lol. Just wish there were more clicks on this yesterday.

I checked my two best porn domains at Parked, one English and one Portuguese, and the English one has seen a definite increase of about three cents per click over the last month - which can add up if you have substantial traffic. The Portuguese one is up about a penny or so.

It is a positive direction seeing as how we are going into summer. It would appear that Parked has made progress implementing some of the new feeds which are now eating up some of the void Ask.com left us with in March

I don't think anyone should be expecting much in the way of search engine ranking from a parked domain.
There are really only two options for you. Parked.com and other parking sponsors have done some of the leg work for you already but there is no money for the lazy in this world.
You have to get up off your butt and either go promote your sites - leaving them directed at the parking centre, or alternatively take them out of parking mode and put some active content on them. There is now some pretty good software that does that real cheap too!

Is anyone else seeing a problem in the Parked.com dashboard? when I click on dashboard everything looks good but when I click on any date, I see ~Fatal error: Call to undefined function isApiAccessAllowed() in /www/phpinclude/account/reports/reports.lib.php on line 643
