Would anyone be interested in joining a mailing list that sends the top 250 domains every single day?

If so, would you pay for it?

If you would, what would you say is a fair price?

I can't even begin to imagine who would want Bodega.

Maybe someone could start a companion subscription for a step by step start to end guide on how to sell a domain. Take a caught/new domain each week or month and show to sell it, with detailed nitty-gritty steps. I guess lot of noobs would be interested.
I diasgree, it's pretty awesome actually..... buy it, I'll broker it for a fee :)

Good luck.

Obviously there is market (many want it), there is a good eye (Shane), the only problem is balancing it the way that people get enough looks at good names with minimum competition with each other and I am sure a way will be found.

So how did Bodega sell?

I haven't checked but it's the only one you can spell correctly without a Spanish keyboard. Plus, everyone in every giant US city knows the term... and it's easy to read, pronounce, type, and spell....

Good list - Bodega is a great name and registered in all major tld so it obviously has value - There are 100's of them in Denmark where I live

What I meant is it obviously did not make it into expired and was grabbed by catchers and auctioned?

That's why I liked your post :)...... I work 12 hours per day and 6 days per week... not because I have to, but because I love money.. I'd work Sunday if I could... I do this, every brief second I get per day..... I had to preface my next statement so u didn't think I was being a smartass..... I'm just tired and did not check...

I think certain amount of free trial period (may be 7-days) should be a good starting point. If I find it beneficial I would definitely like to pay for it. Having said that, it's really a wonderful idea.

This is nice idea. But yes you got to start with providing fee listing for some period and then everybody will see the quality, if its really good on quality, then you can go ahead.
Good Luck

LOL, you got me wrong, I meant .... I am a noob, so no idea how to even start thinking about who would find this name of value. If I was scanning a name list, I would not even look at it twice.

If ShaneB listed it and you liked it, there must be value to it, but to me, it is just a word.

I like bodega.com a lot. Best name, doesn't have to be an IDN to spell correctly.. I could sell that quickly....... I think all of the names are nice. If you can produce lists like this, you are on to something.

Same.

The problem with that is it's terribly time consuming and a sale is not guaranteed. I don't t think it'd help as much as you'd think.

Hah!

Good luck.

Agreed. I'm not sure. I didn't join the auction.

Tons here too.

Yes, I believe it was at NameJet.

Welcome to my life. :)

I was planning a 7-day free trial.

I'd take any common 1-word domain. :D

gapo.com

I like these names

I briefly looked at todays list and saw a bunch of foreign names... Curious if these would be of any value to anyone?

Bodega.com (corner store)

NewComputer.com

Orejas.com (Spanish for ears)

EEJ.com

LosDelincuentes.com (Spanish for the criminals and it's a rap song)

******.com (650k population)

Minena.com (Spanish for my baby)

******************.com (Translates to college)

DoiThay.com (Vietnamese for change)

Snelheid.com (Dutch for speed)

I checked a few and they are currently unavailable (past drop time). So I'd say 3 or 4 out of 10 were available for reg fee today.

The 2 blanked out are mine. If you were paying, you'd have a chance to win those at auction.

:)

Thoughts?

May be you want to change your avatar picture. Your serious look may scare a lot of people.
He's smiling, and looks fairly pro to me, although I know what you mean, I've thought the dark background is too dark, seems like he's coming out of the darkness like a ghostly phantom etc :D Shane, I guess you intentionally went for that look, but maybe try some contrast on the BG? Or tell us to STFU ;)

That said, as this is all business it being Shane himself in the pic is a good thing (better than trading domain names with a dodgy Jack Sparrow or Raoul Duke :xf.grin: )

I doubt this will work!

This can work in terms. The number of members must be very well considered and the cap - some issues may occur in terms of who gets what? daily time zone for each member - some might see the list before the rest - one member may end up picking them all - I think, they should be drip fed through out the day. Kind of Randomizing mechanism can also help.

I also think some people will troll around saying the list isn't as good - or Shane may be scraping off the top (although he wont be doing so) - but at the end - if the real effort and delivery mechanism is provided, I believe it can work very well.

All the best.

I haven't read every post but skimmed through some of it and I totally get some of the people who don't want it to happen. The truth be told, from what I see the OP is going ahead barring any technical issues so all the best to the OP.

I'm torn both ways, from a selfish perspective I don't like it because i'm sure if the OP really works at it he'll do a good job which will make me pay up more for the domains I want to get under the radar. On the other hand at that kind of price range for what is being proposed it would be hard to say no that's for sure.

DoiThay.com (Vietnamese for change)
Girlfriend says that's the flowery literary word for "change". Like Shakespeare.

So it's correct but it would be thaydoi.com for what we see as change.com

I'd be interested in the list. I'm low on time so something like this would help. I'd suggest getting 250 names and sending everybody a random 200.. Easier to tell who might spread the names around.

Dropping.com rejected my proposal. I will look into getting direct feeds but this definitely hampers my plans.
