Overture isn't everything

I just sold 3 names with zero OVT for $7500.00 through Afternic.
I had some information on new propane powered mowers being produced commerically and acted on it.

With some email marketing to 3 lawn mower manufacturers, I got interest out of 2 and then finally sold to Dixie Chopper.

When it comes to new products, they obviously aren't going to have any OVT. But companies are starting to also get wise to the fact that good generic names will eventually bring them traffic once they advertise their products.

I agree -- a brandable domain is a good domain, Overture is definitely not everything. When I first joined NP I could never figure out why there was so much emphasis placed on OT ratings, I still can't figure it out.

because end users may not be on NP. OVT is about traffic income, which can be set to a value--easier than the abstract and subjective brandable names.
