$2,010,600 sold today.

I missed the first little bit but I wrote down every single domain, start price, sell price or no bid that occurred at Traffic West just now.

You can read through the entire log at: http://gopc.com/smf/index.php?topic=56.0

highligts include sex.net selling for $450K while StockBroker.com getting Zilch.

Crazy and unorganized but apparently good for a few.

OVer 2 Million Bucks sold... that's alot but only a fraction of what was presented to them.

302 pages of domains were sent out, only 6 pages of domains were sold.

Figure that out... how many were left on the table, NEVER presented to the buying audience? Hmmm....

Perhaps that is the real story here. ;)

The sale sounded totally disorganized.

Picture it...

302 pages of Excell SpreadSheets filled with domain names and minor stats.

Not sectioned by domain type, topic, catagory, sales price... nothing.

Monte thumbing through the pages trying to find "the good ones" to give to the Auctioneer that repeatedly asked him "what's next?".

If I had a nickle for every thing I heard that during the Auction, I would have scored bigger than some of the sellers! LOL!!!

By the midpoint, the Audience had Monte jumping back and forth through those 302 pages of domains looking for domains they were calling out. He was like "wait, wait... what? Which? I don't know... I can't find it. Is that for sale?"

What kind of question is that for an Auction host? "Is that one for sale?" LOL!

Does anyone know if the auction was RECORDED?

Thanks for taking down notes from the live auction, GoPC. I am here at TRAFFIC but skipped the live auction. With those starting prices, I'm not surpised at the number of "no bids". Nice grand total of $2 million of course, but it sounds like it was a little disappointing overall.

NonFictionBooks.com - $2K start - SOLD for $52K :o

With all due respect, it sounded a bit like a boyscout auction... ran by the boyscouts themselves. ;)

Seriously, I think they could have added another Million to the Auction's take if it had been more organized. Monte stated that he had a goal to reach $2 Million for the Auction (presumably to cover costs) and once he hit it, he pretty much quit trying. It was apparent that he fished through the list looking for the big hitters right off the bat. Trying to get the big money names and bidders together early and get the totals he needed.

Like I said, there was alot of picking and choosing going on... at one point, Monte referring to getting an IM from a domain owner revising his asking price DURING the bidding. LOL!

It was an experience... that's for sure.

Like I said... oh well.

I think it could have been organized much better & maybe limit the amount of names or break it into a multiple day auction. Some good names never even made it to the podium. What I don't get is why were people calling out for names to be auctioned off but no one would bid. I found that quite pointless.

If the issue is having a wide selection of names available, perhaps the whole thing could be scripted and let domain owners submit their names for sale online instead of by email. Then they could allow for potential buyers to enter a pre-bid or express interest, and only move domains onto the live auction that will be bid on.

Monte is one of the best in the business. I'm sure the next event will be even better.

Isn't that the problem?

Hi little off topic, but I am new to this domain game, but I still thnk that is the issue. Is there a clever search system for Domains for sale? And i don't mean Google:) Getting the exposure is what its all about. Being listed in a massive excel sheet just won't do.

I have bought over 130 .eu domains. I feel I got some major cool domains and I really have no idea where to start. Any advice or is there training programs etc

Appreciate any advice. Will have Website up soon with all Domains.
