I am new here and to web design in general
My first attempt to create a website portfolio for my art work.

The site is in its beginnings.

http://www12.brinkster.com/ylozitskiy/homepage.aspx

I wanted to know if the layout is good.
And in particular: is the menu on the left easy to read, does it jump out at you?
Should i continue to make the rest of the site in the same style or should i change it?

Thanks,

Yuriy

phpwiz , maybe explain why?
First off welcome to namepros.
About you're website.
Start with you're tables , don't show up you're tables , put the border on 0 not 1.
Then i think you should work on the navbar.
I don't really like that , why did you use that pattern? Doesn't fit it .
And those blue and green colors don't fit together if you ask me , maybe use the blue color only.

Well good luck

i decided to clean it up a bit

these borders are really for me to see the table, i will remove that when i will start working on that part

oh yeah, and if you click on the one of the small images on that page you can see an upclose shot in new window.

It's certainly easy to use, but as for visual appeal, the design does not meet the same standard. The colours do not match, the brinkster ads do not help, and default table borders are ugly.

Regards.

Hey,

A little unorganized, IMHO. YOu could center the Google ads and also the text on the left menu is too big, IMHO. Might want to use a smaller font.

If you want to keep the table borders you could maybe use css to make them look more attractive, and i would also change the navbar, give it the more simple look the rest of your site has.

Center the google ads or put them at the bottom, otherwise the design is okay, nothing special
