This artist is selling 1000 simple paintings of a blue number on white canvas. 568 of the 1000 have been sold already within two months and I'm pretty sure at this point that he is going to complete his goal. He stands to make around a quarter million dollars from this project.

Would you buy one?

At the time of this post 205 Domainers have seen this thread.
Of the 205, 175 are now furiously working on a variation of this theme.
25 are still at the Art Supply store trying to decide purple or green
so as not to look like they ripped the idea.
Armstrong, Badger and -RJ- have moved on, back to real domaining.
And B33R and I are still trying to figure out whats up with the "pee in the bottle thread".

Man I love this place.

Best post ever!

This is a horrible idea and he just got lucky. There really is no reason for somebody to buy one of those.. They won't get extra traffic to their site.. and now they are stuck with a junk painting that thay can't really throw out.. because that would be like throwing out $500... yet somehow they didn't mind throwing away the $500 in the first place. :-D

But... the same could be said for people buying any type of art work, whether it's a original Picasso or a sketch from a street vendor. Just substitute the price they paid in the quoted paragraph. Who can say what art is to someone else?

Here's the final one that is going to be sold for < $200. Last chance, everyone! :D

I don't know why... but I get a kick out of seeing the variations on the "Million-Whatever" theme...

I like this one... I wouldn't pay the price for one... (not that high anyway)

I'd be interested to see a picture of the actual artist...

and to armstrong and Cyberian - - - those were FUNNY responses...
made me SMILE...

It's been a year since started this thread, and he's sold 191 more paintings, leaving just 240 to sell. Have you gotten yours yet? ;)

There's a standing offer of $3k for any single digit painting and $400 for any two digit.
