.tv One reason from each member as to why we know TV is so wonderful...

I just sat down and thought about all the many reasons why .TV is so successful and will be even more so as time passes.

The biggest reason I could think of was that it just 'sounded right' when put against certain names. Yes, there were many other reasons, but that was the one I liked best.

...and then I realised others here would have far smarter, evidential, anecdotal, personal, business, etc, reasons to pass on to others as to why the .Tv extension will be / and is the defacto success it has become / will continue to be.

So, if you can give just ONE reason why you like .TV please pass it on to others here...





PS This is not a debate about the pros and cons of .tv, just a collection of reasons why .tv is so fondly loved. Anyone wanting to have a go at .TV please start your own thread.

Because the acronym TV is recognised worldwide as relating to the broadcast of images and sound as a means of mass communication via a medium that people are comfortable with.
Dot TV has this feel of comfort, especially to those who are not computer savvy. They don't know their .com from their .co.uk but they know what their .tv is!

I like TV because it is an inspiring extension, when I see a good .tv name my mind runs away with ideas for development possibilities of how I envision the channel or site. Its not the same with other extensions that often lend themselves to more mundane uses.

HDTV makes the .tv extension hotter than it would have been otherwise. The ability to "unite" the television screen with the internet makes for channels, not sites. This makes the extension fit like a glove, the very term invokes visual content and more.

TV has over 50 years of branding and is starting to see a resurgence because of the hdtv-internet-mobile techno-evolution. It is happening.
