Lets say there is a blog with xyz.com and they are centered towards reporting on the US. Now if i start the same thing with xyz.co.uk but reporting on the UK. Would I land with a Lawsuit?

Also:
1) 'xyz' is a an almost generic word. Has a small line on wikipedia about what it means. 'xyz' is not a dictionary word, but is used quite commonly.
2) there are no trademarks for the 'xyz' in the UK
3) There seems to be a dead trademark on 'xyz' in the US (i need to reconfirm this....the USPTO site is timing out)
4) I dont plan to go in to their territory i.e. the US. I will keep my self to reporting in the UK and they keep themselves to the US.

Any help appreciated.

P.S. I doubt it is a little question. :hehe:

BINGO!!

I do not believe anything is "almost generic", it is or it isn't (then there are different meanings in general usage and for TM purposes). You say it is not in the dictionary, but we all know it. So the name can be concidered unique? Is xyz a product or company? When you google xyz, are there many links relating to the same origin (different sites linked to the name/product). Can xyz claim common law TM status or at least give an arguement that it could be?

Yeah, not a lil question.
