AFLAC hit a low of $25, down from $72 and I said, "It can't go much lower", so I bought. :sold: Then AFLAC hit a low of $19, and I felt a little silly, and said, "Wow, it really can't go much lower", and I bought. :sold: Then AFLAC hit a low of $15.35, and I said, "Uhhh, surely to God, that is as low as it can get, it's ready to rebound now, baby, I mean c'mon", so I bought. :sold:

Earlier today, it hit $12.75, but I did not buy it. :hehe:

lol, yeah, I think so too. But, I can't help but think there are all sorts of buying opportunities in the stock market right now.

It's a gamble, though, hoping that there are enough democrats in congress left with some sense that you can't implement all of Obama's anti business policies right now.

It's all really going to depend on a bottom. I called below 7,000 back last year when this all started; matter fact a friend of mine could tell you I said the Dow will go to 6k-7k before this is over. Admittedly, I'm afraid it will go lower.

I jumped in on Ambac last year -- yes I know it was risky, but it worked! So I know how you feel. I don't know that we've reached bottom quite yet, but when it does turn, there are going to be some darn good bargains!

Yeah, AFLAC has some investments that are at risk, but I don't think that risk justified an 80% drop, lol.

Bad news will be multiplied in a bad economy, that's a general rule of thumb IMHO. That's what makes it all so risky, but that's also what increases the reward in the end if done right. (And that can be a big 'if.')

"Catch a falling knife" vs. "dollar cost averaging"

Very fine line between the two, but it's a rather significant one. Keep your head up!

Using money I dont need for 10-20 years, investing right now will have to be a long term proposition, IMO.

Still seems to me like the sale of the century, I'm picking up positions at a fraction of what they should be. With my time horizon, (long) I'm looking to add a significant amount of money toward my retirement.
