Regged a bunch of Hit+geographical-place.coms recently intended as good local portal domains. Now that I also had HitLondon.com on the list I feel bad. Also have hitNY hitNewYork. I was thinking that hit would be a good online and offline VISIT word.

Oh well - I really feel for London right now. Whats happening in the world is sickening and it is SO weird that so much has to do with religion of all things!!??!!. I am really seriously thinking about giving up anything that has to do with religion. So much bad in history stems from it.

Just because something isn't going the way you want it doesn't mean you have to give up on religion... that would just be stupid. Life isn't perfect, you can't make it the way you want it to be.

Don't give up on religion; it's very important.

Take care. Hold on to your religion.

No reason to give up on religion, but just avoid the radicals (Every religion and nonreligion has it's radicals, and they're everywhere). They're the ones who teach "blinding religion". Religion where you're unable to think for yourself (or if you do, only in a certain direction that they want you to).

This is coming from an atheist too, ;) so don't think I'm a preacher trying to spread the word or anything.

I have to look into Tom Cruises gig. That sounds right where people really look after themselves - in a non selfish way. I hope they spread their fortunes as well - otherwise it wouldn't really work...

No I've really had it with Religion. So much bad stuff. Like limiting stem cell research... not allowing two people who love each other get married and enjoy same priviledges and financial benefits from marriage as others. (no I am not gay) Religion was never supposed to be part of how this country was run BUT its everywhere. Bush just gotta go. He could run for the next pope instead or go back to the oil business. Oh I forgot - he still freelances.

Bush is enough reason to question religion let alone Jihad.

I'd really take a more serious interest in Budhism (the only religion that does not have a God) if they didnt buy and burn fancy prayer paper by the ton loads daily and caught turtles so that you can buy their freedom. + a lot of other just plain wrong practises being tradition or not. All religions just need to CLEAN up their act.

Yeah, it's always such a great feeling of saying "hey look at me I'm giving so much money and I feel so good about it." Each unto their own but that's a feel good "religion" if I ever heard of one. Nevermind the fact that a science fiction writer started it. Oh, and it doesn't have a God either I don't believe - so Budhism isn't the only one.

All that being said...

Don't let the actions of a few chase you away. Religion has been abused for many years by various groups and will continue until we aren't here anymore. All religions certainly are not the same. However, if you feel that another religion has an effect on your own beliefs then perhaps any religion is not for you. You cannot let the actions of leaders in the past and present dictate your own feelings.

Seriously, you need to reconcider everything... don't give up on religion. I GUARANTEE that in the future you will regret it. Well, I understand how you feel, and although you did make fun of religion by saying it needs to clean up its act, I feel as if you need more time to think on it. And you shouldn't not like it just because it restricts some things... there are obviously reasons for it.

In all seriousness, don't give up on religion. You might choose a bad religion, but any religion is better than no religion. Just don't become an atheist :)

See thats the whole thing thats so weird about religion. What you are not supposed to educate your self and learn about what is good about other religions. I think I will just take bits and pieces from here and there and use all and any and none of the religious customs as my own. hey This way I can just have a church on every block in every citi.

Natural places of serenity is my favorite church. though. AND I will for sure continue to look for the good and the bad in all religions. The blind (to outside things) are the ones who will be trouble in the end.

The whole entire idea of religion is believing in something. You're more than welcome to believe in whatever it is that you want. I'm not quite sure about going around and picking and choosing what you want from each religion but that's your choice and not mine. There's nothing really weird about religion - you either believe in it or you don't.

I believe in Christianity because I feel it's right and other religions are wrong. Anyone who knows me knows I don't play the politically correct game. I believe in what I believe and I will not change. That doesn't mean that I don't educate myself in other religions - but believe in them; no, not at all.

Stand up for humanity and ditch all religion. Its 2005 not 1405.

2005 agree!

They say corruption starts as soon as there are 3 or more people in a group. All religions needs to reform reform reform indeed its 2005. Jesus became a hero for reforming Judaism and Martin Luther some 1000 years later. We need some serious housecleaning in 2005 in all religions. Religion has become a bad word. rightfully so. However, there are some great core beliefs in all religions. They just dont work as part of politics and even as part of society in general.

Thats why I think everybody should take a deeper look at themselves and not be so busy correcting others. (or suicide bombing or imposing new amendments to the constitution)

I say a man without religion has thrown off the shackles of history, and is free.

A man without God has nothing to live for. Religion was created by people. People make mistakes. Religion has hundreds (if not thousands) of rules. God has only a few (most atheists even follow these rules!) There are tons of problems with religion. There are no problems with God.

"Religious fanatics" are called that for a good reason. Religion clouds peoples minds. Any religion that teaches hate and death should be rejected, but due to the tactics that PEOPLE have created to recruite cookie-cutout, mindless followers, people are suckered in.

Losing your faith in God because of religion is giving in to hopelessness. That, in my mind, is the saddest thing of all.

I do not blame any religion for what is happening in this world right now. Man is power hungry by nature, innocent people are brainwashed by a few power hungry so-called "Leaders" who use religion as a basis for their dirty agendas. Religion is perhaps the only thing left on this earth that can manipulate a person mentally and emotionally.

The so called "Islamic Terrorism" is something I do not believe in. There is no such thing as Islamic Terrorism. In the time of World War 2 and previous conflicts among different nations, alot of things of the same kind, i.e.bombings, was done by Christians, Jews and people belonging to different religions. At that time no one came up with "Catholic Terrorism" or "Jewish Terrorism".

History witnesses times that were worst than today. The only difference is that in that in those days people had the courage to fight their own battles and today people do all kinds of things but are not brave enough to face the consequences and then blame it all on the religions to save their own bacons.

What part of manipulating a person mentally and emotionally is a GOOD thing..? Especially when it comes from the outside of your friends and family...?

Jihad is not Islamic Terrorism...? Last time I checked it is just that. Sure it's extremists tactics but Islamic none the less.

Huh? catholic and Jewism terrorism?? WW2 was ALL about Natzi terrorism and ethnic cleansing (and about Japneese imperialism/ethnic cleansing) which needed to be fought.

Maybe a forum is not the best place to talk about this kind of things. There's always somebody with very hard to understand views. All I meant was to QUESTION religion and especially for RELIGION to look in the mirror to see if any views could be modified and updated a little. And it should be to Question religion. The blind following and the notion that its 100% belief or nothing is the saddest part. Religion was MAN made. or at least man implemented and man "translated". Just because something is carved in stone or printed on money doesnt mean its was GOD speaking. (all religious communication was written and decided by various PEOPLE in colorful hats and robes or various kinds)

It is not our decision to believe or not to believe in what they are doing. If they believe they are correct then we can capture them and inprison them for breaking the law. The law is always right no matter if you believe it to be wrong. Most people (99% of the world) that believe in religion don't feel the need to bypass the law systems because "God told them to". So the thing is if they want to create havoc and prod us on, we shall inprison them for life, let them get raped in prison, and eventually electricute the bastards.
