Very interesting article... and I would add France to this overloaded side of the bracket that has Brazil, Belgium, Portugal, and Argentina. Even Uruguay have a very powerful team.

On the other bracket you basically have Spain with England and Croatia at an inferior level.

Very lop sided indeed...

Too bad Germany is not in the knockout stage. So much talent. Love seeing them play. Just couldn't complete quality plays on target in 2018. But glad to see other talented teams making it despite underperforming.

Belgium & Croatia...I can't even think how I did this mistyping.

The first 2 pairs, France - Argentina and Uruguay - Portugal are very close.

I picked Argentina over France, "Experience" "leader" which I don't see in France's team.

Uruguay over Portugal "more than one forward" "stronger defense I think".

Denmark over Croatia "Penalty kicks"

Spain over Russia "Everything about Spain is better"

Brazil over Mexico "Better control over their matches in this world cup"

Belgium Over Japan " I don't think Japan can compete"

Sweden over Switzerland "Sweden denied Italy & Holland the participation & contributed to Germany's elimination" lol !!! so nothing less than the cup.

England over Colombia "England's coach could have a plan"

You are right and the bookmakers also have Croatia as big favorites, so it's most wishful thinking from my side, but Denmark has not lost any of the last 18 matches they have played and they are difficult to play against
