The Problem: some people just list and re-list the same exact names over and over. There really are only a handful of members that do this, but it is annoying to see the same exact names popup over and over again as new threads. If it didn't sell the last 10 or 20 times, why list them all over again at the same prices? It's a waste of everyone's time and crowds out the new stuff that we all want to look through.
I would suggest possibly putting a limit on re-listing the same domain(s) in the same sub-forum more than twice in a 30 day period. There should be no logical reason to need to relist it 3 or more times in the same month in the same section.. the seller can just update one of the first threads for that name instead of making the same listing a brand new one. For example if you have:
Domain1, Domain2, Domain3 and list them together in the 'make offer' section, there should be no reason why you need to re-list it more than one other time within the same month in that same section. If a member wants to add BINs and start a third listing during that same month but in the BIN section, then that would at least be tolerable, as it's something new and different beyond what users have already seen in a listing.
I'm not trying to be a rule nazi, but it is beyond annoying to see the same names and the same listing copied and pasted over and over again week after week. It doesn't have to be some hard and fast rule programmed into the forum to seek out repeat listings.. just a general courtesy where if it becomes a problem, members can report it. It would simply involve a mod closing the multiple threads and leaving only one of them open, perhaps the most recent. This would help give buyers a better browsing experience and limit the clutter in the sales sections. Sellers will still have their sales listing active in at least one of their threads, but won't be able to abuse the system by making it a new listing over and over again. Thoughts??
