Another use for the NP$...

When a developer like myself writes a new software suite, for say $500 NP you guys verify that it is original and put it into a thread with the name of the software, author, and date. That way, we can prove we are the original authors. Sh*t, I would pay 2000 NP$ for that!

i think it's already been done as we speak,mods verify the op if he/she claims to be the programmer or owner.

Yup, as Weblord said, when selling software or php scripts, we always ask for either resale rights, or proof of ownership.

Just out of curiosity. How do I prove that I wrote a script? I might be looking at selling a script (as part of a website) towards the end of the year. Just wondering what would be required for me to prove that it is original. Cheers

We're already confirming all scripts via PM or email, We have our ways of finding if its legit or not, This idea could easily backfire aswell.

Just keep posting them how you do now

Staff people have ways of finding out if it is pirated or not

Most of the time just a quick look at the index page of that script tells what it is all about :D

In other cases the general knowledge comes in handy.

on the webmaster tools of google, google uses 2 methods to prove web ownership (1) via meta (2) via upload of a file.

it's just the principle.

if it's your written script then you are familiar how to modify it fast and you can even give an .api to connect to it.

yeah, if all else fails that can be done and more but I don't want to divulge it all in one post.

Moderators an Staff can deal with this, we've had people try it and locked or deleted threads if they haven't handed over the source to compare if they've had a complaint against them.
