Dear NP members,

One of the awesome things about this community is the support that YOU give the NP Staff. Our members work hard, each doing their part in making the forum a friendly and safe place. You all play an important role in making NamePros successful. :)

The amount of volunteers we have for moderator positions is overwhelming. So overwhelming in fact, that I must reluctantly ask that no more applications be sent at this time, and no more PTS threads or PM's to staff/leaders asking them to make you moderators.

We have SO MANY great members -- SO MANY great volunteers -- it's truly awesome. But right now, we just don't have the positions to assign. I suppose it's a good problem to have, but it still bothers us to be turning people away. I'm concerned that it might be putting some of our staff and leaders in awkward positions, so I decided to post this thread.

When we expand again and decide to hire more moderators, we will post an announcement. Until then, thank you for your incredible support and positive energy.

- NamePros Team :)

July 2007 - Update

OK, we are hiring a small number of moderators to be assigned to specific forums.

Moderator Policy
In Order To Apply To Be A Moderator You Must:

* be a forum regular
* have been at the forum for at least three months
* have a positive efficacious presence on NamePros.Com (this will ultimately be reflected in your post count and referrals)
* be proactive

Moderators should be knowledgeable in the topic they would like to moderate. They should be polite and helpful towards other members and give advice whenever needed and whenever possible. Moderators should visit the forum each day, actively take part in discussions as often as possible, ideally once a day, setting a good example to the other members. They should also take an active part in discussions between Moderators relating to the running of the forum. NamePros.Com Moderators have a responsibility to keep unsuitable content out of the forums as much as possible. Moderators should frequently encougrage member participation in their forum, both by posting in existing threads and starting new ones.

If this sounds like a good fit for you and you'd like to lend a hand moderating one of the boards, you can submit an app at http://www.namepros.com/modapp.php
