I was able to pick up these two names in the 5th day of EAP for a great price. All the highly targeted keywords like news and porn sold in the 2nd day of EAP for around $3,400 each. Please share any of your .now, and your thoughts on the potential future. For some reason, I prefer this extension to .deal that also is in EAP.

80k is now the ceiling!
LFG!

We all have to read the beautiful "manifesto" of TopDomains again and again. Especially @GoDaddy and @Afternic have to read this text carefully:

QUOTE

SOLD Love.now for $79,499 USD

Big congrats to the buyer โ€” this is a remarkable name to own!

The 9-month young .Now TLD is proving itself to be one of the mostโ€”if not the mostโ€”exciting gTLDs ever.

Think of it this way: what TLD could have entered the market late 2024, with some much competitionโ€”so many well-established TLDsโ€”and score:

1) a $37,500 sale in less than 2 months
2) a $79,499 sale in less than 9 months

Both organic inbound sales.

And for that, a TLD not tied to any hyped-up trend โ€“ a gTLD in the truest sense of the G, like .Com.

Only .Now.

We don't see any other TLD that could've made it work.

But โ€“ we think no one really sees .Now's true potential yet.

We'll share this: for about two months we've had an idea for .Now โ€“ a vision.

And with it, a special promo post where we'll lay it out.

It's probably dropping in September or October. Stay tuned.

The sale happened on @Sedo via the Buy Now option.

The buyer was referred by Porkbun but ultimately chose Spaceship as their registrar.

It will be submitted to DN Journal and NameBio shortly.

Atom.com wasn't part of this sale โ€“ but shoutout to @atomHQ for spotting .Now's potential early and backing it from the start.

As much as we love our account manager at GoDaddy.com, and we wish every domainer had someone as caring as Mauli in their corner:

GoDaddy and Afternic have been a big disappointment.

We don't think they've ever had more requests to add a TLD than they've had for .Now โ€“ from all of us.

Despite that, they weren't there to support us in the firstโ€”and often the most difficultโ€”year.

To their credit, registrars like 101domain, Dynadot, Namecheap, Spaceship, and Porkbun stepped up.

Has to be said: the rapid success of .Now wouldn't be possible without the steady progress new gTLDs have made over the years.

It's impressive: in June alone, we sold 15 gTLD domains.

For June, that's an unprecedented result.

People want creative, memorable premium names for their businesses โ€“ a necessity in today's fast-paced world.

.Now investors โ€“ don't miss our post tomorrow (or shortly after).

We just picked up another .Now via BIN on Atom (seller should be notified soon).

And yes โ€“ we'll be buying more.

Once again, big congrats to the buyer on acquiring Love.now

Nice pickups! The .now extension definitely feels more action-oriented and brandable than .deal to me too. It has potential for time-sensitive platformsโ€”news, streaming, flash sales, or live services. I didnโ€™t grab any yet, but Iโ€™m watching how usage unfolds post-EAP. Curiousโ€”are you planning to develop or hold them long term?

Well we are almost 10 months post launch and there are nearly $200k in total sales which I consider a success considering there are sales that haven't been reported either. I hold 22 .now names and all are listed on Atom. I will probably not develop any, but I may in the future. My most popular one is Good dot now actually.

I was only going to hold most of my .now for a year but I'll probably commit to 3 years for most of them.

Damned. When this thread started I built a list of incredible .now domains which have been available. But I decided against registrations because I said to myself โ€žAnother random nTLD to be successful - now?โ€œ.

Well, bandwagon here I am with 75 rather good .now names.

There's still a lot of great names available at standard price.

The problem is that at $32 now, it hurts a lot a lot more than when they were $16.

I still grabbed 5 more at $32, but these are probably my last ones.

Fair point.

But keep in mind the sales & acquisition price.

Many good coms cost money to acquire (either incurring $69 dropcatch fees or auction fees). Some even require aftermarket purchase. So you have to factor acquisition cost into the analysis for all but hand regs.

As for hand regs, you're only left with mashups and brandable types if you go this route. For me - my hand reg com mashup and brandables sell in the $3k range generally. .now is early, so it's hard to say - but names are selling in the $9k range. Com is $10 - now is $30. So it makes up for it (assuming STR is similar - and that is a huge assumption that may not come to pass).

There are certain extensions that have STR higher than com (this does not mean .now will be one - just that it does happen). While we all see com selling more frequently than anything else, keep in mind it is 10x larger than anything else.
