Hi friends,

I am very sorry to say that from today onwards I will not be very active
on NamePros anymore. I really made a lot of friends and enjoy the
community itself but, due to a staff member showing his "power" I really
have a bad taste in my mouth.

Out of respect to the community I will not name the person but, I do have
to say he handled wrong and I guess he does not care about his
community he just want to show what he "can" do.

Its really hard to post this thread as I really love this forum and I always felt
it is my home online but, I will not allow anybody to talk to me like that.

with kind regards,

Faisj

gmtfan,

I understand your post but, I think it is not respectable to the other staff.
(that I still respect)

I guess it is also now very hard to figure out who the person is.

It was already resolved .... IMO -

A staff member posted in a "Adult Domains Wanted" thread - To NOT post explicit Adult names. They are to be PM'd to the OP only. This Should be common sense seeing our "Domains Wanted" section can be seen by anyone.

When you post explicit names a few posts down from a Staff members post saying not to , I'd say your not paying attention period !
Same goes for posting 2 word domains of all extensions in a thread where the OP Clearly posted in BOLD : "Looking for one word .com's only".

Do I/We catch all of this type mess ? NO , But I will not be giving out Cookies to those I do see or those who are reported .....

Read the OP's request - Read the Staff's notes - Use common sense !

http://www.namepros.com/domain-names-wanted-announcements.html

Sadly - This announcement has only been viewed a few times since 06-28-2006

If we follow these simple rules, it helps to build a better "community" for all of us.

* "Domains Wanted" are to be considered bona-fide offers for purchase, and should be provided the same degree of respect and professionalism as the Namepros Sales/Auctions threads. Please refrain from extracurricular commenting, specifically "appraising" domains that are posted for consideration.

* When in doubt, PM the requester directly with any questions regarding suitability of a particular domain name. Please only post those domains which you believe best "match" the originating request.

* Thread starters: Please keep your threads up-to-date. If you've purchased a domain and/or the request has otherwise expired or been fulfilled, help us all to save precious time and energy by updating your thread.

* New Rule effective 07-01-2006 - Any wanted thread without an update from the OP within 14 days, will be closed. The other members take the time to reply and submit their names per your request, and it's your responsibility to update your threads letting them know if you are still looking. Otherwise, it's just wasting the time and efforts of our members, and filling up this section with old, outdated and pointless threads, because people continue to reply.

* Attention sellers: Please offer only those domains that are in accordance with the buyer's request. If the buyer said "only .com", then expect a warning or post deletion for posting a .net or other extension. If the description is vague, for example "I want a valuable domain", then we'll probably let folks get away with most anything. If the buyer asked to "send domains via PM only", then please honor that request. Extraneous posts are subject to deletion.

* Attention buyers/sellers:
Please Remember - This is an open forum. Any Adult / Mature Domains shall be by Private Message (PM) Only.

Thank you for your cooperation,

RJ, Staff and Forum Leaders.

Sorry to hear that and i know how you feel. I been a member here for almost 4 years. Without a single warning or anything, until a mod sent me a warning beacuse i said: "**** sucks"... **** = a country that stoned a young girl to death lately.

The discussion was calm and i said i believe that the country sucked. He sent me a warning, then we had a discussion and i kindly asked if he would send out warnings to every guy that have mentioned "something sucks" here in the forum and he replied : "I don't care what you think, what you say".. Great mod, listening to the members thoughts.

But we do has some GREAT admins/mods here, but not all of them.. Its like in the real world, good and bad authorities ;) I do love NP, member for almost 4 years.

You wanna do this FINE!!

In the Adult Domains Wanted thread the thread started with:
Adult Domains!
Looking for adult domains, no traffic, any traffic, X-LowXXX
PM or Post the domains and what you are asking.
Thanks
Tim

Some of these threads and also this one are some pages long.
After reading the thread post (do note there is no comment there.
Neither was the post deleted or anything like that)
I posted the domain names.
(Like many others also did)

If you leave a opening post like that you can be sure that people
will post the names. The thread clearly states what the domains are about
and as such a person will only open it when they are interested.
You directly gave me 4 warning points

Just one hour later:

I received:

You have been warned for the post: Your Post. Your warning level is now: 8. This action was taken for the following reason: READ the wanted threads before posting in them .... He only wanted PM's or Emails.. Please reply back if you have a dispute. Mark

1. I replied because I had a dispute.
But, received no reply on this!

2. You posted in this thread:

Same goes for posting 2 word domains of all extensions in a thread where the OP Clearly posted in BOLD : "Looking for one word .com's only".

Now, its a fact that English is not my first lang. but, you are clearly stating
something else. (keep aside the fact that I don't even own many other extensions then .com)

You have been warned for the post: Your Post. Your warning level is now: 8. This action was taken for the following reason: READ the wanted threads before posting in them .... He only wanted PM's or Emails.. Please reply back if you have a dispute. Mark

3. The tone in your PM's. Who do you think I am?
I am not a small child you can treat like that.
I have always treated every (staff) member with the utmost respect and
I expect the same back. Even if you are a ADMIN.

4. I tried to keep things calm here on the main public forum and even did
not say who the person was. This post and you second post
(there was no reason to post such a reply) and you PM's give me the
feeling you like these kind of talks. (let is be a fact that this is not the
first time that someone spoke to me about you. As people are even now
but, don't want to do that on the forum as they are "scared".

Well, sorry to say... I will speak my mind when you provoke me.

But, I guess you have the status (you think) to talk down to people.

I don't expect anything from you.
- Not taking away my warning points
- Not a sorry the way you talked
- Not a way to keep things calm

I will tell you that you made a senior member here, motm, a dedicated
Namepros member feel not welcome.
You will not find me talking bad about you or saying anything bad about
NamePros. You will see me less on this forum and you changed my view.

- Faisj

This is exactly what I mean.
If Mark would have send me a PM in kind with the question to remove it
I would have done it without any question and within seconds.
But, this shows he does not respect me (a simple normal member) at all.

I don't care what the OP posted .... It's Stickied and Announced at the Top of the Section by "Staff/Management" - You know .... The ones who actually are supposed to be listened to.

Do you think Religious people or Young teens need to see those names ? It should have been common sense , Even though it is a rule at the top of the section.

Who do I think I am ?

I'm me - I volunteer my time here to try to make things run smoother .... I'm NOT here to win popularity contests. I'm not here to play favorites for older members either - In fact , I'd much rather give a new member a break even though Everyone agrees to our rules when they sign up. Long term members should know better to begin with IMO ~

Do I feel I should be allowed to Talk down to members ?

No but , You say you've shown us Respect ? You didn't read the rules ... You posted Vulgar domains in the open for Everyone to see ... Now that's respect alright ;) Someone's 13 year old kid may have seen those domains before they were removed.

"Warning Points" aren't some permanent thing .... No one "could" see them but the staff and you. YOU made it public by opening this thread. Warning Points are removed after time usually ....

Anyone that somewhat knows me Knows I think these type threads are nothing but an attempt at Sympathy - If you want to complain , Contact the owners ....

Oh my god, how naive can you be?!
This is the internet... Anybody with a email account gets multiple
spam emails with words 10times worse. Not talking about popups, websites
and the fact that the thread name clearly states what the content of the
thread is about. With as many clicks you are in the adult domain
section here at namepros.

Great words, and no way you are winning a popularity contest!
You lost my respect completly and just taking a look at my IM
many members agree but, dont dare to talk like I am now.
I am not asking to play favourites for anyone... but clearly you do!
And, taking with respect and just a PM is not to much to ask to someone
who also is a member of the community.

The community is not only a staff member it is everymember. (new and old)!

Well, you do! I shown you all respect for years. Read every post of mine!
I am even sure that other staff members will agree. I have acted to the
best that I can (with upmost respect) I tought that is why I (also) received
a motm.
And, please don't make things sound so much worse with words like:
"vulgar" and "13 year old" members are smart enough to see that is not
the point.

"Warning Points" aren't some permanent thing .... No one "could" see them but the staff and you. YOU made it public by opening this thread. Warning Points are removed after time usually ....

It does mean a lot to me because this community is important to me.
I have spend a lot of time here and I pm'ed to get it resolved but,
with you words you got it worse. (taking out the fact that you were on
a "warning point tour" those hours.

I made it public. Yes, I did!
But, read the thread post again: I did not mention ANY names!
I just said I will not be that active anymore.
Or, am I also not allowed to say that?

Anyone that somewhat knows me Knows I think these type threads are nothing but an attempt at Sympathy - If you want to complain , Contact the owners ....

I did not call out your name and the way you think is very clear by just
reading your reply's and second post here at this thread.
I am allowed (I hope) to say that I will not be that active anymore because
of this dispute.
It was YOUR choise to post everything on the public forum.
Don't think that I will won't stand up then and speak my mind and
place all the facts open.
You call it sympathy well I call it that you show everyone your "admin"
status. But, do understand (and I hope you will take my advice)
with this attitude you push away members.
(and thats not just me saying that last line)

Do you know how many members are warned each day?
This isn't some vindictive plot against you atall.
A warning is just that, a warning, you have had a heads up, don't do it again, no one thinks any less of you, move on.

Faisj, i think this is a bit below you.
I wont comment too much as i don't know the situation, but if you screwed up, accept it, move on, and carry on.

The best of people make mistakes.

Admin ops and staff do a great job here and i am surprised at such an active member dragging this out in public ?

I could have expected these kind of reply's when talking so open to a Admin.
But, I discuss everything in detail. I guess Albino you should to or not comment
in a situation where your only gain is .... kissing a admin.
Sorry, to be so open but this is making me very angry now.

Morphmaster, you also know me some time now.
Why is it the member that screwed up. Why can the admin not:
"accept it, move on, and carry on."

And, do note: that I started this thread with only the msg:
"I will not be that active on NamePros anymore because of a staff member"

It works both ways, but i don't see what Mark has done wrong?
On a side note I think i am probably the screw-up-king of the staff team.

Dear mellowmasher,

As you may have read: I have upmost respect for the staff
(even for Mark before he started acting like this) but, only my view for him
has changed and he made me feel very unwelcome here.

And, please do see that I was not the one who dragged everything out in public!

I guess it does and with that I am ready to say "sorry" for being "perhaps to direct/open"
But, that is all what I did. (speaking my mind)

Do note: that I will not think about saying sorry to a person who is to proud with a status.

Then a Admin would be kinda pointless.

A admin is here to help, enforce the rules, set a example.
Any member will get a warning, if they break a clearly stated rule.

Even i had a warning in the past.
Think nothing of it, just remember the reason.

Atleast you won't make the mistake again. ;)

Wow, some people love to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

At the end of the day you have a problem with one member out of 56,000 plus you only have 8/20 warning points which will soon expire.

As Morph said people get warned daily and if everyone posted threads like these NPs would be a mess.

Mark does a great job, his experience keeps many NPs members safe from scammers and rogue members who continually reregister and remember - at the end of the day itโ€™s his time he's volunteering.

It's so hard not to chip in where it's clearly nothing to do with you, this is hardly a thread asking for peoples opinions but sod it you're going to have mine condensed in to a couple of sentences anyway ;)

1) faisj, I don't blame you for posting this...Mark "provoked" you into outing the story by his first post.

2) I don't care what the "problem" was between you two, i have only skimmed it, it is a waste of my time to read it as it makes no difference. Point is, this topic should not exist...or rather, Mark should not have posted his little "Grow up"* message.

3) Mark, since it was you who actually started to "explain" things in this topic, do you really think that was appropriate? faisj posted his little "goodbye" message not giving anything away, not even about which staff member it was and i doubt any of us would have asked. Even if you think you are right, would it not have been prudent to keep your bloody mouth shut instead of posting simply to make sure everyone knew that you were right?... Is that not a little childish, especially for a forum leader who, frankly, has the last word anyway regardless of what the problem is.

4) faisj, athey are only warning points...while you may think they were not deserved, you need to consider whether a protest was worth it...just forget it?

5*)
Do I feel I should be allowed to Talk down to members ?
Well, this is not an attack at you, it may simply be the way i read your posts however yes you do actually come off a little arrogant in some of your posts, none specifically, but occasionally i will read something that makes me think this guys got a god complex going on. Just being honest there ;)

Actually you know what I'm going to stop there, half of what i have written does not make sense...i find it hard to express things like that however put simple if faisj ignored a rule either deliberately (which i do not believe is the case) or by accident then he was in the wrong and probably should have accepted that, however the way this thing has turned out, considering the forum position Mark has....i am more inclined to loose many respect i had for him as a member more than faisj.

Matt
