Nonpaying buyer at Sedo

Has anyone had any success, where a buyer fails to pay for a name at Sedo, in taking the matter further direct with the buyer when provided their contact details by Sedo?

If so, how did you approach the situation please?

I have such a situation where both myself and the buyer are in the UK (in fact probably less than 100 miles from me) - the amount is not huge but I would like to see if any options are open to me.

You could always push the issue and take legal action but I think most just walk away especially if it's a low amount as the lawyer fees/time invested wouldn't make it worthwhile. Sucks when deals don't come through but I would say look at any deal at Sedo as not "money in the bank" until you actually do see the "money in the bank" as this happens occasionally. If he is close to you a few pizzas delivered at midnight, few dozen eggs on the house or sending an escort/stripper if hes married could work as well, that kinda stuff is at your own risk though. :hehe:

I did a $2k deal with a buyer who was based in Korea, the auction closed in Aug, I got paid in Oct, after I got a lawyer in his home country to send a letter. Buyer suddenly made contact with sedo, funny thing was this guys firm had recently been bought out by google. Really depends on the value of the deal though, you might want to give them a call since you are so close. I would say a good 20% of sedo auctions go unpaid, I think it has gotten better though.

yes of course , this is what snap,pool and namejet are doing , so when u win an auction the billing is happening automatically , so why sedo is not working in that system also ?

I just had two transactions, one went smooth, the other took F O R E V E R, Your dealing with the slow train even on a real transaction half the time.

My advice is try get a REAL person on the phone at Sedo, rather than corresponding with the Sedo robot, because honestly, i don't think the robot cares one bit whether your deal occurs or not!

If you speak to a HUMAN, they may ring the person themselves when you point out that a $$$ commission is on the line.

Don't get me wrong, i don't hate robots, some of my best friends are robots, but HUMANS can get things done occasionally that robots cant, especially when money is involved!

yes of course , this is what snap,pool and namejet are doing , so when u win an auction the billing is happening automatically , so why sedo is not working in that system also ?
so u can compare those customer support from snap , pool , namejet with sedo supports :D

SEDO should require CC for taking automatic payments... that'd speed things up, too.

Don't get me wrong, i don't hate robots, some of my best friends are robots, but HUMANS can get things done occasionally that robots cant, especially when money is involved!

...you really need to get out more.

5% - 10% deposit to bid. easy, worst case scenario share 50/50 with sedo & seller.

Only issue is you want to make it easy and cheap as possible as sellers out number buyers.

What to do?
