Just came across this. http://nodaddy.com/ I myself have never had a problem with Godaddy in the +- 2 years I have been a customer there. I find their service reps quick, friendly and helpfull when I do have the odd issue.
Anybody else have a good Godaddy experience?

Update:

I see that Nodaddy.mobi is registered by Godaddy and resolves to the Godaddy.com site.

I don't have bad experiences nor good. But I find their website messy which is the main reason why I decided not to use them. :)

I have a superb rep at GD, which makes all the difference most of the time.

I have had one major issue (that my rep couldn't help with), which went all they way to the office of the president of GD, but they refused to admit a problem or help me. A week after their "final" decision, they made a change in their TDNAM website to prevent/correct the problem they said didn't exist...which was good, but I still lost about $500 on the deal.

I love them. Except for the upsells they are perfect. :)

I recently left them but... I rly don't think they're as bad as a lot of people say

Godaddy is good except the backorders. They seem not to be able to catch any important domains. Or do they sell the caught domain to other companies???

The backorders are a bunk deal. I have never done them, probably because I have only herd people complain about them. They make you pay up front and I hear they never get what you want.

Better to use a good drop service at a price. :'(

Their names are cheap and the upsells suck too but overall management and feature set is good.

my 2cents

All the stories I have read on there so far, GoDaddy was right in doing what they were doing. Shutting down a guys site because it was warez? Last time I checked it is illegal to have a warez site.

MY STORY:

I love their customer support ppl - all gr8 experience so far past 6-7 years

BUT THE CASH PARKING IDIOTS:

removed my site SeatBeltPads.com - which I parked there for 2 weeks and it was doing $40-80/day, becuase the site has been around for almost 6 years and has tens of thousands of links embedded all over the internet (99.7% not by me at this point) and they wondered how a domain called seatbeltpads.com could earn so much on cash parking and said the traffic must be generated by using illigal software - wtf? - well duh, google it and see how much history you find on SeatBeltPads.com and google "gr8 racing" and see (the game with clickable link) listed on half a million sites on the net. Even after I wrote to the CP, department, pres@gd and everyone way I could get in touch with them - they did not reply with anything but generic replys that were cut and paste from a template of "excuses" without even reading past the 1st line.
They did the wrong thing and in my book since I even email [email protected] as many support reps told me, Mr. Bob Parsons is a theif for this one case, and thats all I know - after being a 5 year reseller with hundreds of customers and porbably with myself hundreds of thousands spent at godaddy - they would not make good on this mistake they made!

I have a serious mancrush on GoDaddy. I keep most of my domains there and recommend them to everyone. LOVE the control panel compared to the other registrars I've tried, many of which are hard to use.

With that said, there are always going to be people that have problems with someone, it is just human nature. I work for the #1 mortgage company and some people hate us with a passion and tell all their friends to avoid us, but 98%+ would recommend us to a friend. You can't please everyone!

No problems here. Last night a customer bought a godaddy TM site through me. I mentioned it to that person an hour later. GD was gonna let it ride, but I remembered a enom situation that was almost identical. I suggested a different and better KW oriented domain and support made the changes.
Now, I have another happy customer. :sold:

Only issue I had with them was they needed fax verification or so when I first
tried to transfer out my domain name due to my location. A year later, they've
lifted it and I was able to move it out with no further incident.

Nodaddy...registerflies...wikileaks on eNom....there's bound to be a site about
a registrar or so. YMMV.

Does getting a domain for $5.99 without a code count? :P

Every business has haters, and you're a GD hater, which is fine. Paypal, wal-mart etc all know this is part of their existence. BUt honestly, Godaddy is dominating the registrar biz + other stuff so much that your site will probably not slow their momentum right now. If you really dislike godaddy, then make a site and see how it does.

You just go to Moniker and you don't have to enter a code, you just tell a rep you want the special pricing and you get that same special pricing on renewals and reggs (great if you have renewals set to automatic), never have to get a code for the rest of your life : ) Unlike the godaddy run around. Where else do you have to fill out 'whois' information (town, city, postcode, country) just to move a domain to a different customers account, godaddy of course, godaddy is kind of like back in the dark ages technology, he he

Nothing against anyone here so don't get angry. :hehe:

But I hate everything about GoDaddy. First of all I'm from Canada so I can't register .ca names. Thats fine no problems. Nothing against them for that. Its not a massive market.

But I hate the look of their site. Its so messy and filled with ads at every turn.

I hate their logo, looks like a guy with spaghetti hair on fire. Or a guy who never showers with stink lines coming from the top of his head.

I hate their colours. Green and orange or whatever it is now.

I hate the "Congratulations, hamandcheesesandwich.com is available! Click Next........ Do you want privacy for this name? Its only $8!..... No thanks........ Just to let you know the .net .org .info .biz .gc .ph .pk (500 more variations)........ are available for only $56,953.46 more! With the domain privacy that you should be getting for free, its only $102,432.63. Do you want to take advantage of this offer?..... No thanks............ Ok you have been billed for $5.95, do you want to hand over your credit card to GoDaddy for random billing by us?... No thanks...... Congratulations! Please navigate through the main page and open windows magnifier, you should see your account tools in size 3 font in the top left beside the 50 ads. Thank you for using GoDaddy!

My god, you have to go through like 20 pages of ads to buy a name.

I hate the GoDaddy girls. I don't get the concept of this. Thats like having the Hooters girls advertising the wall street journal. Its the wrong crowd!

Finally I hate the name. I feel like an idiot even saying "GoDaddy"

Sorry thats my rant! :)

You move a domain name with an enom based regsiter, all you need is the customers enom username (example username: blobber, enter blobber domain moves to customers account. With Moniker it is a bit more annoying as you have to enter two things, the customers account number and their authorization code, but still fairly simple. With Godaddy, you move a domain to a customers account and you fill out time consuming whois information just to move a domain to their account, tedious annoying and aggravating are the words to best describe moving a domain into a customers godaddy account for me

Also Godaddy deleting peoples domains because they feel the customer filled out their whois information incorrectly (whois = customers address name and email that goes with the domain name) Downright scares me

I have jsut recently got a whois update email from godaddy and when I followed the links it was nonsensicle, it didn't give me a check box for me to say my whois information is correct, it is a mess, I don't know if this domain will just be quietly deleted by Sorry but if you can easily delete peoples domain names goddady, I have no kind words for you, none at all

I don't like to live under fear, godaddy does just that, gives me fear for the welfare of my domain names they can delete at will D-:D-:D-:

i have had no problems with godaddy- but then again i have not had any of the issues posted on nodaddy.

its kinda scary when you think about it. we forget we do not "own" these names- more of a lease, and with any lease, there is always some loophole in which yyou can be evicted. and every landlord has these loopholes.
you think you are gonna be just fine, and then whack.

its kinda scary actually the stuff i read. and what can you do? unless you have deep pockets to fight it :(

i hate the fact that bob is untouchable- monte has posted on these boards himself. i dont know- the whole thing can be scary sometimes.
and these damn eggs we colored for easter are stinking up my fricken house.
