No PayPal Protection for Domain Name Sales

Right now, I believe auctioning my particular domain name to invited end users on Ebay best suits my situation.
However, I've learned that PayPal does not give "Seller Protection" for the sale of intangibles like domain names, although I could show that the item was "shipped" successfully.
Anyway, without the Seller Protection from PayPal, I would not be "covered for claims, chargebacks, and reversals for unauthorized payments and items not received when transactions meet the terms of coverage."
This sounds like a major issue.
Question:
Have you ever had or heard of anyone having problems with this type of situation with Ebay sales of domain names?
Thank you in advance.

Yes - Paypal is notoriously bad (and not recommended) for domain sales, for the reasons you stated. Do a search on the forums or on Google for Paypal + domain theft and you'll see numerous examples.

Some people still use Paypal for smaller sales, but for larger sales (and some people would say for ALL sales) you should be using Escrow.com or a trusted domain escrow service like Sedo or Moniker. You can use their escrow services even if you don't happen to sell a domain through their platform.

I wouldn't risk using Paypal if I didn't already know and trust the buyer. You have virtually no protection once you've already transferred a name to them.
