The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Well what domains are you trying to sell?

The problem with big sites like Sedo is that your domain would get lost in there among the other domains. Try a smaller site, I don't really know any sites to sell domains, because I don't register domains that I won't use and sell.

The trick is time. It takes time, you rarely can list and sell in a day. I would suggest trying to sell on a smaller site and try selling on a forum like namepros.

Yes, SEDO is to obig for any practical use for even mid $xxx domains. Namepros is a good option, try the marketplace forums!

i have sold a couple of names at sedo and you need to buy a featured listing i have sold a couple just with the 9 dollar catergory selection too

No offense but some of this advice is bad.

1. You do NOT need to pay for a featured listing or any other kind. I sold 2 domains within 2 weeks of each other & they were just parked.

2. If you are looking for nice sales, NP's most likely isn't your source for them.

Lets be serious here, this site has alot of kids who register crap names or who want to lowball you price wise as they want good names at reseller prices.

If you want end user sales, park & market your name & good things will happen for you.

Well 20 domains are not called a huge protfolio compared to the numbers of domains that are on sedo for sale.

Still If you mention the domains It will give us a better idea. If it is a premium name then it doesn;t matters even if it is one out of millions. That domain will get offers. :D

take an appraise for your domains first (if not, follow appraisal methods urself).then fix your price and look for offers .this could work for you.

You have to be patient... even with very nice names it can take a while before an interested party will see them.
Why not post them for appraisal here ?
Also, as suggested above, it may be a good idea to put up a minisite to showcase your portfolio... do not wait for someone to find your names on Sedo (among 4 million other names :p) but be proactive instead.

I think that you should be a bit patient.. it takes some months to sell a name with sedo, but if the name is nice, sooner or later you'll get offers.

There is no "trick". There is no "easy way" There is no "get rich quick" scheme. With very few exceptions, people expecting to score overnight (or without doing their homework) with domains, need to get out of this industry and look for another hobby.

Hard work, research, patience and experience are the answers.

Its the same in every industry, you cant get rich over night, except if today is your day. You have to be patient. Paid listings are in fact worth the money if the domain is valueable. If your portfolio consists of mylongcrappyname.com like domains better not pay for them to be listed but if you have keyword.com domains then you can even pay for them to be sold.

Once again I disagree. If you have what a majority feel is a premium name, you will be found without having to waste money on showcasing it. Sedo for example gives you the opportunity to search for names based on quality. If your name is a real premium name with quality, it will be easily found & it cost you nothing.

If you have a premium name worth $XX,XXX for example and 20 interested buyers are aware of it because of advertising and only 10 would find it without then I would pay $XXX for promotion that could increase the price by $X,XXX. Even if the advertising is effective 1 out of 10 times you break even.

Unfortunately, all my domains are worth $XX. :)

to me the 9 dollar catergory selection has helpme sell my names faster and has given my domain much more views so i think its a good deal but thats just my experience

patience is the trick, I believe I read the average sale at sedo is like 230-260 days somewhere, I have sold domains the same day I bought them and others I have held for 2+ years or better before selling. List your domains at sedo, afternic and any other places you can find to list them for sale as more publicity is a good thing. Link to your domains for sale through forum signatures. In the end if you are sitting on something premium you will be found, but until you are found as much publicity you can bring to them will help. You can sell domains through forums for maximum dollar but the forum you are targeting has to relate to the domain you are selling and contain the end users, selling a "cooking" domain at a domainer forum like namepros will not bring max dollar, selling at a "cooking" forum could. List everywhere possible and send targeted visitors to your listings.
I can list a "cooking" domain all across the board and when they buy it will show that sedo made the sale, but truthfully yes sedo closed the deal but it was my efforts that produced the sale as I sen't hot leads directly to the parked & offer page. "Cooking" was just used as an example, substitute with the type of domain you have.

Use your NamePros signature to lead folks to your Sedo names page.

Use the signature in all your emails.

It's a start...

I have probably 1700 names listed with Sedo but only sell one a month or so through them. Offers rarely come in.
