Would you like to know some shocking fact? It's not possible to hand reg 7n domain with 111, 222,333,555,666,777,888,999 at the end and not including any 0 or 4 in between.:)

You are a visionary bro, but that was too much :D

We will see. ;)

I think it's still to be determined if people will bother with "junk" names in the 7N and 8N field or if it will be primarily good patterns and numbers for 6N and on.

Remember phone numbers in the US have been 10 digits and no one has trouble with those.

If a random Chinese person has a choice between 6317891 vs 888181888, I'm guessing / betting the latter has far far more appeal with double trip 8's.

Rightly said, junk names have no scope from 7Ns on.But the problem is realization of a market. As 6N market has realized now, I would assume 7n market is near. So the time period to migrate from one N to the next N is more when you consider 8 and 9Ns and it is a burden to the investor to renew them until market realization happens. This is my thought.

But you are thinking inside the box of the market being based on digit length. My point is perhaps the box is not so simple and the market at 6N and beyond is not a digit based market, but more based on premiums like 88nnn88, 888nn888 and 888nnn888, etc.

With 10 million 7N I don't at all think they will all have value. People will grab premium and move to 8N and 9N rather quickly.

The search for good 7n is becoming wild. Only a few weeks ago it was possible to hand-reg. many good combinations. Now, it is impossible to catch them even with good software. People are backordering them...

Here are some of yesterday's sales according to NameBio:

2281888.com 482 USD 2015-09-29 Pheenix
2181888.com 470 USD 2015-09-29 DropCatch

I must say I think memorable patterns are handy, no matter what the length of the domain

they were inbound inquiries by email.. lots of chineses scan the WHOIS of desirable number combos etc. and send mass mails looking to buy some gems cheap..
i unfortunately lost such a 78888887.com to one such chinese guy who kept contacting me trying to buy it cheap before and finally managed to grab it from me once expired (i missed to renew that one as i was gone and offline for a week that time.. sigh)

I registerd 328-888.com and 888-328.com
we all know what 888 means in chinese (Triple prosperous or extremely wealth)
nevertheless 328 means (Business prosperous). So the combination of the too separated by a dash could mean a lot. Anyway, Its domain speculation.

I dont think it is the right time to buy 7N domains.

The best time to buy is when no one else is; sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but risk is inherent in this business.

But I do agree that 7N must offer a pattern and not just be random numbers.

When 4 is part of lucky combinations, I don't shy away.

:)

@Ms Domainer, do you mean something like; 7681314.com :?:

Yep.

This is a lucky pattern, which is probably why it has been registered (non Chinese registrant).

"Fortune all the way, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part."

1314768 is also taken.

These look like random numbers but are well known in the Chinese culture.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not an expert in Chinese numerology -- just what I have read on several websites.

F.. F... F... !! i saw a real 7N gem on Sedo, it was offered at a quite cheap BIN ($600, priced a while ago already i guess) for it's value, but i still decided to send a lower offer of $488 (minimum accepted) instead..

Seller sent to auction instead and now there are several guys battling over that gem into the x,xxx range..
really stupid of me, sigh.. first and last time to count pennies when it comes to gems like 8888828.com

ps: yes, revealing the name now since i won't continue bidding that far.. got enough great 7N domains to sit back for now..

I have the following. Hope I'll get some good offers, someday in future! :)

Some of them are palindromes!

2881882.com
3828898.com (38-28)
3889883.com
8788768.com (768 at the end)
8848884.com
8884889.com
8885899.com
8988768.com
8987889.com (89-87-88)

This pair reads/looks the same from either side ;)

1886881.com
1889881.com

I'm not sure if any of these appear good to any of you here but I just gambled with these!!
