Moving on from the 3D, Cloud , NFC, Marijuana etc....trends, what do people think will be the next big money maker for the domainer?

I have a few Big Data domains but I like my hand in several dishes so if anyone would like to share their thoughts I'm sure a lot of domainers would appreciate any insights to what's gonna be hot or not.

Based on Namebio, I doubt yo'd get much more than low to mid x,xxx. But that is just my mortal judgement. Half of the domains that are reported every week make no sense at all, so of course I could be wrong about a domain that makes sense like OledTV.com. I just know that TV domains that are technology based and not content based are not selling very well....

If you're into Bitcoin domains, there is a new technology called "Sidechains". I'm not bitcoin expert, but from what I've read, sidechains could theoretically make altcoins irrelevant, because they will allow you to build a variety of services and other crypto-coins on top of the BTC Blockchain. Because other altcoins have gotten a bad rap with allegations of corruption and mismanagement, people like the idea building new services (and more private sector crypto-coins and micropayment services) on top of the already existing BTC Blockchain ledger.

The Blockchain is being called one of the most important innovations in modern history, while others are saying that the Blockchain is even more important than Bitcoin itself (even though they are related), because of it's many possible uses, even beyond the financial sector. Sidechains are relatively new even though the concept was announced last year.

In the future you'll be hearing more about the blockchain than bitcoin.

Already and few sidechain domains on Sedo.

I've regged SideCoins (dot) com since there may be new coins built on top of bitcoin using sidechain technology and also regged SideChainSolutions (dot) com.

its not about new technologies, its about what people search on google, so check how many time is searched term "oled TV", its connected with the mainstream marketed terms.
Oled Tv market price could be around 150 k at least.

You're not going to get $150k for only 12K searches per month buddy...especially since the demand for technology related TV domains doesn't seem high.

well the oled TV is not mainstream term yet, so just to figure out the level you should command is where you had LCD TV term or plasma TV in the past, and it will be much higher than that , so asking less than I have mentioned earlier you would be shooting yourself in your foot.

Look at the sale history for plasma and LCD...really sparse and dismal, with one sale over 5k. I doubt that Oled will be any different. Manufacturers will promote these technologies on their own sites...on already existing product menus of the sites that they have aleady spent millions promoting. Yes, some companies like to own a technology.com for the sake of owning it, but the problem with TV tech is that it's always upgrading every 5 years, so no one wants to pay 150k for that category.

I've owned a few TV related domains and didn't do well. I still own 4Dtv.info despite the extension because it's an exact search term but probably couldn't get mid xx for it.

IMHO TV related domains make great affiliate websites.

I'm guessing the next big thing will be aging, both in terms of health care and in terms of staying healthy and living to 100-plus as a result of new bio discoveries. I'm starting to accumulate a few domains on this topic and have:

Absolutely - but I think it's 20 years away before it blows up. Also aging / anti-aging has no pizzaz - "life extention science" is sexier.
