Hi to all,

most of my domains are registered with namecheap.

Now, namecheap requires newly registered domains to stay with them for a 60-day period before transferring.

my question is:

if I sell a domain to someone that is not registered with namecheap, how can I transfer the domain to them except asking them to join namecheap to have it pushed?

if there's no other way except the one mentioned, shouldn't I let the buyer know before purchase?

thanks in advance

the other way is....

to wait until after 60 days have passed before trying to sell your domain name.

why?

because you should have the name parked for that duration to check for traffic.

why?

because if there is traffic, then there could be revenue

and if there is traffic and revenue, then value of domain will increase.

imo....

Yes you should advise any buyer that the domain is not available for transfer until DATE.

imo....

...well, it's imo too :)

I just wanted to verify that. Namecheap support is excellent so far, but on this matter they got me confused, so I had to ask here :)

thanks for both of the answers people

btw. I have posted a question in the pre-purchase section, about the value of UK post codes ... since it's been 3 days now and no-one has answered I'd be grateful if you could give a look and, if possible, help me... Thanks again

Clarify something....

Namecheap says to transfer out, a new domain has to wait for 60 days.

To transfer to another namecheap account can be done at once, or at any time.

So if someone has a namecheap account, you can transfer your domain to their namecheap account whenever.
