Hello guys !!
as I understood, domains are acquired by hand registering , back ordering , and by either buying from owner or wait till he drop it..
so, if i'm right , these are all about this industry and I should stick to one of them .. correct me if i'm wrong , please .
Now, I understand that high-quality domains are - most of them -already registered ,so I should backorder them .. but
*1 - if it's indeed , a good name , like affiliate.com ( let's assume his owner is dump and let it to drop ) ... let's assume it's status is expiring in 2 days , should I do a back order then ? and it will be ready when it's status is Expired ?? or there are other status it will pass on .. ?

*2 - if I made my backorder in , let's say ,pool . I may get competitors in this name and go through bidding , which will raise the price alot which I can not afford to pay ...can I place the order in snapnames instead which may has less competitors ?? and are they different or the bidding is done when pool got the domain actually and putting it on auction .... and does pool take the bidding amount for theirselves !??

*3 what is the success rate for this process of choosing which domain to backorder till I own it ... is it costing alot? are there any cheaper methods for a newcomer who doesn't have enough money to go through these expensive auctions to get the domain he wants

Thank you guys in advance

Domain status Redemption Period is period that is 30 days long and in that time owner of the domain can still renew it but at much larger cost than registration fee. Then when those 30 days past it changes status to Pending Delete and this phase is 5 days long, and on the last day between 11 am and 2 pm Pacific Time, the name will drop from the database and will be available. And you can place backorder in any phase domain is in.

If SnapNames gets ahold of the domain then Pool won't have it auctioned and vice versa. Bidding amount gets firm that got it auctioned and probably some % goes to registrar on whom it was registered before. Don't really know about that. :)

It depends on each domain. If you are the only one that backordered domain you will get it without auction. If you don't have winning bid or snapnames,pool,... doesn't get desired domain you don't pay anything.

Hope I helped you.
