Hi.I'm new to domain buying and selling and could really do with an experienced tutor to help me out.I started less than a month ago,and currently have 143 domains... its kind of an addiction.Ive listed many at sedo.I could really do with someone who knows about domain names to browse over my portfolio and offer up some advise.

Did I forget to say...Hello everyone

hi shane mac,

I don't consider myself an expert so I won't tutor you but I can give you a advise that every newbie here gets. It seems quite appropriate in your case.

Read the forums first before you start buying!

If you have bought 143 domains in just a month, chances are all your domains are crap. If you buy before you know anything about what makes a good domain or domainer you're doing it the wrong way. Maybe you're a natural and you have quality domains but in general you first need to know about what you're going to do and only than you do it.

If you want to know about the value of your domains, show a few of them in the appraisal section and let np members comment on them.

Oh yeah, and join Domainers Anonymous :P

Strongly agree!! Almost 90% of the names that i registered at the first time were craps!

I would suggest you to develop those names that you have registered. Create a simple website with 1-3 pages, and submit it to Search Engine. At least you will get some traffic from Search Engine. This is what i did on my names that has no type in traffic. (yes, crap!):yell:

Welcome to Namepros!

Shane

There are some hard hitting facts that have been outlined above, don't despair, it's a newbie mistake that we all went through when we first started out...

Here's my advice to you, and I wish someone would have told me about this when I started back when...

Make a choice on whether you want to go into the domain reselling business or development business and than buy your domains based on this...it'll help you save a lot of money!.:imho:

Thats the spirit!!! - Not buddy, dont worry you will get there if you spend a few months (You might be able to do it faster, but i would advise you to take as much time as you could ever need) researching the marked.

I also bought a load of crap/throwaway i the begining.
Take the time and you wil get there, and just aks if you need any help B-)
