I have tried on several occasions to get appraisals but to no avail. No $ amount on ANY names. I don't have much money but have spent over $500 on names so far. Am I wasting my money like the lottery? ...or do I have any domain picking talent?

Please appraise... at least something on my list...I need honesty

Thanks.

I REALLY like UScamper.com , I think that is a terrific name. What a great domain for a camping forum!

VDtreatments would be a good adsense site offering information about VD, really good pickup.

These are worth $0 - reg fee (since you did register them).

If you've spent $500 already on domains, you should set the wallet aside for a bit and set your sights on educating yourself more on what makes a name valuable before you find yourself having spent $5,000 on basically reg fee names. These are all brandable domains, but those come a dime a dozen. Save your money and read up a bit. Good luck.

I appreciate the opinions--especially from cyberserf because you put a dollar amount on the names (my first appraisal) and also added comments.

Does there anyone out there that thinks any of the names are worth more than low $xx. I have some other names I think are better... but now I am a little reluctant to register them because it might throw away more money..

I disagree that UScamper.com is a reg fee domain. As soon as I saw that, I felt it would be a terrific site for a camping ezine or newsletter, with camp site reviews, equipment reviews - with affiliate prodicts, or course. There are maps to be sold, hiking boots, tents, travel related products, my gosh.

It is the perfect name for a physical magazine, too. Think about it, here are some similar names of existing magazines: US news, US Weekly, etc....

Values people place on domains vary greatly, and I guess I am just really up on this articular domain. If it was mine, I would give it a solid year of development before I even thought of selling it.

Dear Appraisers...There are 121 people looking to see how these names are appraised. There have been two appraisals...one medium high and one at 0 to reg fee. Will some of you please be a tiebreaker? It would not only help me but the other 121 interested onlookiers. Thanks!

Most are 0 to reg fee, but I agree that USCampers.com has potential.. but think about the market of who would buy it... Always have potential buyers in mind when you register a name unless you plan to develop it yourself or just sit on the name. Sure, if a magazine came along called US Campers you could sell that to them, but a magazine of any other random name could also come along. VDTreatments.com seems to be the best of the bunch because you have potential buyers- search 'vd treatments' and email some of the top search result sites to see if they're interested.

Thanks scrsteven for your input and advice. (PS I checked out your nice websites.) Actually I own the singular version "UScamper.com" (not with the "s") but your comments are the same.

Thanks for your suggestion about VDtreatments. I thought that would be a good name because a person needing that type of information might want to do their medical research privately and quietly over the web--and it's not something that is not going to go away like "floppy disks" or "zip drives" have.

What type of price should I ask for when I email them? What should I settle for?

vdtreatments, uscamper have the best potential.
top10actors has about reg. fee worth.

Others are worth $0

I appreciate opinions on "this is best" or "that has potential" but what I am really hoping for is an appraisal (in dollar amount--or at least a price range). Anybody confident/qualified to pin a dollar amount to the names that DO have some worth?

vdtreatments.com- always try to get the other party to make an offer first, and then almost always counter it at least 20 to 50% higher. So see what offers you can get, whether it be 300 or 500 or 1000, and then counter about 20% higher than the offer. If they won't provide an offer just make up a number you would be satisfied getting based on the financial backing of whatever company you are dealing with, like 500.

Over 200 people now would be interested in seeing some appraisals. I am disappointed that only a couple people said registration fee for my worst and failed to comment on my best. (although one said they are all worthless without development) If you think one of my names is the best please appraise it instead of saying " $0 for your worst and your best may be more" Are any of you 200 people capable of appriasing!

PS I do appreciate the constructive information...but this is an appraisal thread so I was hoping to get more opinions on price estimates! ---like dollar values. (I am sure you have all been here in the past and know how I feel)

We have 245 people interested in an appraisal and no numbers but zero. So I will appraise my own names. Probably never been done but I'm just a dumb newbie!

RacyGames Reg Fee
(Short gaming name but no one uses "racy" anymore, maybe naughty or sexy)

GolfWiser $150
(One of the leading reasons for higher golf scores is stupid decisions. The golfer can get better without spending $$ on new equipment, lessons, or even practice balls.

Top10Actors $150
(lots of people follow hollywood. A great site to sell netflicks or similar movie rentals. I also own Top10Actressess but this would be $100 because it is longer)

ToRiches $100
(short and wealth seeking are positive. Words people would not use brings it down)

VDtreatments $400
(I hope the behavior of teens and society would change so this would be worth less--but I think it will only get worse. Growing value. People want to search on and buy these treatments in private if possible.)

ClubsMall $150
(probably used for golf clubs but it could be used to advertise soccer clubs, poker clubs, gaming clubs, singles clubs....whatever... and it is short

GameRug Reg Fee
(Rugs and games don't go together very well. But it is short and has the word "game" in it.

WebTourneys $50
(Just speculation. I think I may have to register it for 3 or 4 more years to get what I want out of it.)

AttireMall $300
(Anyone who wants to sell a variety of clothing on the web could use this. It would be worth even more if attire wasn't always used with another adjective such as formal attire, evening attire etc.)

UScamper $500
(Could be used to sell the vehichles called campers or a camping information website)

UScaller $200
(I don't know why but this gets the most iquirys of the whole list parked at NameDrive. I originally thought it would be something with the telemarketing industry. The only reason I have estimated it this high is because it is short and and gets NameDrive looks.

CartGolfer $200
(But I may have to wait on this one. Using golf carts is becoming more popular. Courses promote it and young people are using them more than older folks. We just have to wait until these young people have more money to spend.)

There it is. At least there is one "real number appraisal" to go with the Zero to Reg Fee numbers which I would believe more if I had 10 estimates and 8 said reg. fee.

Of course I don't know appraisal prices. I have never sold a name. I am here just trying to learn values like the rest of you 245 + people who have visited the thread.

Those are great price tags but do accept less if offered.

Also I don't know if those 247 people are really all that interested. Probably only a handful are keeping tabs on this thread If any.

Cheers

Just so you know its not possible for anyone to truly appraise a names value, most people here will give you dollar amounts but those numbers are based on reseller pricing, its not possible to say what an end user wanting that specific name will pay.

Example : I owned a name and got appraisals in the $100-$500 range, sold the name to an end user for $2.5k

Thanks for the Dollar range appraisals.

Thanks guys for your appraisals and comments. I had to be away for awhile.

Yes the comment that a name may be worth a lot to the right buyer is true. About 10 years ago my computer store was named Computers Delivered. I wanted to get the Domain Name for my store of ComputersDelivered.com However, someone was sitting on it and wanted $10,000. I did not want to pay that much so I changed the name of my store to Computers By Campus because I could get that for reg. fee. However I am sure I would have paid $1500 but did not even counter offer because I did not think they would come down.

Someone else now has must have bought Computers Delivered because there is a site there.

Thanks again for the appraisals. If you have some names to run by me I'd be happy to return the favor and give you my "unprofessional newbie opinions" if that has any value to you.

You are never going to get any where near the prices you Self-appraised the names at, Unless you do the following
1/ Stop Buying names LIKE THESE
2/ Research and Find the Type of names that are in demand
3/ Do some development and promotion
