Okay... 'Fess up!

I've had 10+ people - real life friends, co-workers, acquaintances ask me about how to get involved in the domain name market since January 1st!

I've spoken with all these people about domain names time and time again, but all of the sudden, a whole bunch of them are interested.

I sent one of them out a couple page report with all the sites I recommend they read, become members of, get accounts at, etc. Sending out another one by email tonight

Anybody else getting alot more "I want to start an Internet business too, please help me out," kind of questions since January 1st?

I'm absolutely delighted to help.. Not much I like more than being able to help someone attain financial freedom and quit their job if they so desire!

But I did tell them about how I could sell the LLLL.coms that took me a grand total of about 1 hour to register for 30k+ usd profit :D

Anybody else see a news story about how the top paid CEO's have made more money by Jan 2 than the average worker makes in a year? Well if I sold my LLLL.com collection... :hehe: :lala:

My wife, a lot of my friends, coworkers, etc. Maybe we should stop telling people how much we love domaining or there will be even more competition

It won't happen. I used to attend real estate seminars where there would be 300 people in the room who had paid $800 for the seminar plus air fate and lodging. The same people would come back two or three times a year. Most never bought even a single property.

Many factors that go into success are invisible, especially to the successful individual themselves.

I have been hounding my brother for years about buying domains. He is a natural comedian and makes up his own words and languages (we still have our own language). I always thought he would be much better than I am at this sport. I think some people are both drawn to the sport and have abilities to play in the field, while others are just not drawn, regardless of ability. He was into real sports too, and runs a very successful business, and even has a software package he developed on the side for his own business that he now sells, so he is aggressive and can afford this game, he is just not into it. None of my other friends or coworkers are into it either, although they all know about my domains. Maybe it is the "science guy" department where I hang out that might make it special.

So the short answer is in my very odd world:
"No, absolutely nobody I *really* know or interact with, despite my varied approaches, is remotely interested in, or could be forced to, register more than one domain, if that."

I have no idea why, since they all have both the investment potential and knowledge of how domain investments have grown. My physicist friends are probably just thinking it is a vacuum fluctuation... the physicist part of me had to admit that there was a finite, but perhaps low, probability that they are right. To test the theory I added a bit of energy (auction) to the system and pulled money out of the vacuum and put it in my pocket. For the physics readers that money is now on the mass-shell.

I have decided to become a born again domainer in 2008, I was a domainer in 2007 and now I will be a domainer in 2008 also ; )

And to celebrate I have put a ton of excellent domain names on ebay auction right now, typing in raredn.com will get you to them
