New "Worlds Tallest Building"

Still under construction and rising, the Burj Dubai is now the worlds tallest building passing its predecessors Taiwan's Taipei 101 and Malaysia's Petronas Towers. By the time of its completion at around 2275 it will essentially dwarf those two which are a mere sub 1500 ft. At what stage do you need to take oxygen with you?

Haha, is there a base camp somewhere along the way? Imagine living on the top floor... having to buzz someone in and tell them where to find the oxygen tanks.

Not to get political, but the whole Dubai thing smacks of the very capitalistic excess many eschew in that part of the world and have railed against us for.. wondering if they'll eventually run into problems over this rampant development in Dubai or not. That said, it's an amazing architectural achievement.

The World's Tallest Building before the Petronas Towers was the Sears Tower in Chicago and it is still boasts the greatest view in the world. Lake Michigan, Soldier Field, the great lakefront parks and beaches, Wrigley Field, US Cellular Field, The United Center, Midway Airport, O'Hare Airport, Northerly Island (formerly Meigs Field) just to name the most famous landmarks. I think it's like 5 bucks to go to the top, and if you need more high altitude fun there is the John Hancock Center with a bar on the 95th floor.
