Hello everyone,

I just registered Rose-Tower.com

Rose Tower is a 333 metre (1,093 feet), 72-story skyscraper on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Originally, the tower was to be 380 m (1,247 feet) high, but its projected height was reduced in further design modification. Construction began in 2004. ACC (Arabian Construction Co.) was the general contractor. On 24 October 2006, the building reached its full height with the addition of the spire. Although the tower was expected to open in April 2008, it still had not opened by July 2008. Once open, it is expected to become the world's tallest hotel. This hotel will surpass both the 321 m (1,053 ft) Burj Al Arab, and the incomplete 330 m (1,083 ft) Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang, North Korea.

It would be great if some more people can appraise it with some detail in it...

Thanks Hurley4540.

If you can write a detail of your appraisal would be highly appreciated.

You appraised this name for reg fee on the basis because the hotel isn't completed yet? Or the value of the domain won't be there in future as well?

If you see the current tallest hotel which is Burj-Al-Arab whose domain is (Burj-Al-Arab.com) is worthy if we appraise it so just want to know why the future tallest hotel in the world's domain is appraised at reg fee.

Nothing offensive but just need to clear my doubts :)

Once again thank you very much UsedAgain and Hurley4540 for the appraisal :)

Your domain is worth $0, simply because their is no market for it . Developing if for yourself may add value, but in the real market... this domain has no value!

It has a value, for sure. A company in the tourism section might be interested in future.

If a newbie can be allowed an opinion, I think what these guys are saying is that the market is exactly one (1) customer, as is. And, even then, you have an inferior hyphenated version of the name.

Maybe you can persuade them to buy the name, but they will also quickly see that they are the only customer, and offer accordingly. If they have the non-hyphenated version, or even another version (rosetowerhotel, rosetowerdubai, etc), they might not bother at all, and may sue you if you attempt to trade on the name yourself (I visited the jail after lunch once in Dubai, many years ago when it was new. Not a very comfortable place.)

These seem to me to be the basic problems in buying a brand domain. Like pupi said, maybe a travel agent can use it, but how much would they pay for it?

So, maybe more than reg fee but with inherent problems, so not worth a fortune.

Thanks for your detailed explanation. It's worthy.

They can only sue me if they have made the rose tower hotel as trademark before I have purchased the domain.

But as you can see there is market for Burj Al Arab and not for Rose Tower which is quite strange because next year when Rose Tower will be completed so it will be officially the world's tallest hotel and might be at that time everyone comes to know and this name gets famous... ?

What do you suggest me to keep this name and wait for a couple of years?

I don't know enough about the tower to give you a suggestion on hold or drop. Your goal should be to keep as free and clear of WIPO in this purchase, and yet still have something that an end user might find valuable. Whether this clears such hurdles is anyone's guess. Obviously the hyphen reduces value in this future market that you are looking at.
