New to Website Biz - Help?

Hey,

Recently i put up my ownt website for graphic design.. www.conradgorny.com

Now i have multiple questions.. really appreciate the help.

Ill make it simple:
1. Are name domain names good?
2. Easiest way to get popularity?
3. Do you like the site? :D


If you guys could help me out in this way id love you all.

1) If you have a famous name, they are great. If you are nobody, then... but for an artist like yourself I think it is good. If you don't have a domain with your company name then you should get one and use both.

2) Give money and other things away. Or just be a nice person. You will become popular.

3) your site is nice, but your logos, designs, and photos are first-rate...!!! I really like what you do with logos. If you are interested in doing some cheap or in exchange for some promotion / recommendation let me know.

Seriously, your work is some of the best I have seen here on Namepros.

1. if you are an author or article writer i recommend getting one or multiple and get .name version - this is for keeps not to resell.

2. yes they will get into one domain only and see your profile.

3. i dislike browsing site with flash as intro, if this need to be done then do the site all in flash just like what you've done. just me.

Good stuff Conrad. DeviantArt is a good platform and your work is nice. Keep in touch with the music and gaming aspects of your profile, seems to be a source of inspiration.

Though till google starts indexing flash i dont think you have too many options viz seo. Don't give away free stuff or design for time, its a never ending cycle - to understand what i mean spend an hour reading - http://www.no-spec.com

Keep your charges low enough for people to try your services, get testimonials, build a dedicated user base and you'll do just fine. Look me up if you need some assistance.

Comments:

1- Shouldn't you have your name instead of Ceegee Design
2- You can still have your website built with HTML & CSS instead of Flash to make it load faster. I don't see anything that can't be done with HTML & CSS

But I still like your website :--)
