New to this and a couple of questions?

I managed to get the domain name bitcoins.ca using pool.com on a backorder, but I have never registered a domain name before.

1.) As I understand it I have to leave the domain name with domainsatcost.ca for 60 days before I can do anything with it. After that I think I would like to park it with voodoo.com (from what I have read unless someone suggests otherwise.) Am I ok to just leave it with domainsatcost.ca and point it to a different server, or should I move it do a different registrar?

2.) Are there any services or people that could help me lease this domain? I don't want to sell it at this point as I don't think bitcoins are anywhere near hitting mainstream yet, and the value will only increase. Any suggestions are welcome and paying commission is certainly not an issue. (I can even pay you in bitcoins....lol)

3.) Honest opinion is it a decent domain?

You can leave the domain at domainsatcost.ca for now, and just change your DNS servers to point to Voodoo.com, if that is where you want to park it. Of course you'll need an account at Voodoo.

As for leasing it, you can change the headings on Voodoo park pages to read/say whatever you'd like, for example - 'This domain name is available for lease or purchase'. Then change the 'contact us' link (or whatever it says) to your own email, and you can do the leasing/selling yourself. However other than Rick's 'now-closed' JointVentures.com site for leasing names, there's not really any other 'aggressive broker leasing services' at present out there. You may hear from a few 'legends in their mind' brokers that they are a 'leasing broker', but I'd be sure to ask for proof of current leased projects they should have done by then.

Not a big follower of the subject, but the name/term is trending quite a bit now, so I'd make sure you've gotten the best deal you could get, before I'd let it go too soon and fast. GL.

I don't think I would give anyone exclusive rights to broker a lease deal for me unless they had a very good proven track record. Having said that I am happy to sign a deal on here with anyone that thinks they might be able to help me.

How can I check how many times an exact term has been googled. My guess is that "bitcoins" is going to be way up there.

Should I try this above.com for this site or just stick to voodoo?

Try Bodis. They accept you with only 1 domain.

Above.com would only help to optimize between different parking companies. It doesn't monetize the domains themselves. So just stick with 1 parking company for the moment.

Well considering I have only had the domain for a day, it has been parked for about 15 hours and has 6 visitors no clicks....lol

I'm thinking a mini-site might be the way to go.

What are bitcoins?
How do I get them in Canada?
What can I do with them once I have them?
Link to some exchanges, etc....

What software is recommended for developing a simple landing page?

From what I have read wordpress should do the trick and there are template themes, just not sure what software to use etc....

I actually just got an offer to lease the domain starting at 0.25 bitcoins a month for first year and doubling each year after that? Right now a bitcoins is about $50 but have been increasing in value rapidly. Decent deal?
