Hi everyone, I'm Ebenezer.
I've been a domain owner since 2022.

l'm joining NamePros specifically to seek advice on a dispute with a brokerage that is withholding a domain I paid for (vaome.com).

I've already filed with ICANN and am looking forward to getting some industry perspective on how to handle registrar pushback.

Glad to be here!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Well, for one thing, ICANN doesn't care about secondary market transactions, so I'm not sure what the expectation there might be. On the other hand, your post is pretty vague about what sort of problem you have.

What value does this previously unowned name hold for you (beyond the liability of the registration and renewal fees) that would justify disputing it?

Am I overlooking something here?

Either way, good luck!

Oh, is he talking about a name he registered, or one he bought from someone else? The OP refers to a brokerage.

Yes, I did notice that too. But then OP writes: "I've already filed with ICANN and am looking forward to getting some industry perspective on how to handle registrar pushback."

Either way, my point was simply that the OP never actually had possession of the name, so there’s no value derived from prior use in a business or otherwise.

It also doesn’t seem like recovering money spent is the issue here—they just want the name, which IMO is worth no more than the registration fee.

So what's the unknown driving factor here?

I'll bet 4 quatloos on failure to complete registrant identity confirmation, but, maybe he'll come back and explain whatever his problem is.

Or maybe he won't.
