New Google Keyword Tool returns everything EXCEPT the word I entered

Is anyone else having this problem? If I enter "diamond ring" at the new Google keyword tool, I get results for "diamond engagement ring," "buy diamond ring" and 100 other phrases - but nothing at all for "diamond ring" itself. This just started happening last week - it was fine before. Also, the old keyword tool is fine.

This is driving me nuts. I can't be the only one. Or is there a preference I accidentally selected somewhere? (As though there would be a preference for "ignore the exact keyword I enter.")

Can you just use the old one if it works for you?

The old one doesn't work, and as far as I know there is no way to check. You can only check exact on long tail search queries, I think.

Yep. It's buggy.

Have you tried to select just the keywords you want on the left side of the keyword tool?

Because this is working for me...

If I want to know diamond ring then I search "diamond rings"

It works fine.

Also, you might find your keyword on page two.

This new setup offers three metrics:

keyword

"keyword"

[keyword]

Anyone know the difference between [] and ""?

relax , after you enter the security code go to the top right hand corner and click on 'previous interface' and our beloved old keyword tool returns with its much better layout and information supplied

......rinse and repeat

"" is phrase match (the keyword with and without other words before/after it)

[] is exact match (that keyword and nothing else)

Those are the standard ways to indicate match types.

Thanks, enlytend.

I suspected that this was the case but wasn't quite sure. So that [] designation is very important.

Rep on its way (if I can).

I kind of like the new tool. I have had only one case where my searched term wasn't included on the list. Most of the time I found it on page two.

I think once the bugs are ironed out, it will be a great tool.

The old interface kept throwing me off the site and making me reload the page. This one just makes me fill out an easy captcha.

Weird. It's working today. But I have had times when it's unusable. The keyword I entered is not on the 3rd page or 30th page.

The new interface has the advantage that you can get the adwords CPC for every term, as well as the expected Adsense clicks (Choose Views--->Customize in the upper right of the results). It also shows the trends in a new window.

But, yes...it's buggy as heck.
