New domain names - Can't transfer or change ownership for 60 days?

Hello,
I recently purchased several new domain names and found out
after that there's a 60 day waiting period to transfer. Is there any
other way to change ownership? Couldn't you sell it and change
whois information?

If these domains are at a registrar which offers free pushes then you can transfer it to new owner easily (Buyer will have to get a free account at same registrar). If your registrar doesn't have free push system then 60 days wait is a must if you want to transfer out your domain to another registrar.

Registar-to-registar

The 60-day waiting period is usually only for Registrar to Registrar transfers.
If you want to sell the domain, you can push the domain to the buyers account (on the same registrar), wait the 60 days, or change the WHOIS info. However, I don't recommend just changing WHOIS info to transfer ownership of a domain, as personnel information might still be tied to the account at the register. For example: Credit card info used to purchase the domain!!

What registrar are you using?

It makes a difference which registrar you use. If you have godaddy, they will push it to another godaddy account, but if there's any kind of whois information change I understand that you have to click a checkbox that it won't be transferred to another registrar outside the godaddy system for another 60 days.

This was something that I questioned recently and what I do now is use namecheap and when I sell a domain or site I "push" it to their free account at namecheap. Quick, simple, easy and exactly what I was looking to do. It seems most people do it this way and some use godaddy.
