The January Cover Story has just been published at DNJournal.com and this is one we think you won't want to miss: The State of the Industry January 2007: 15 Domain Experts Ponder What Happened in 2006 and Predict What’s Coming Next.

Every January we kick off the New Year with a survey of domain industry leaders to identify the most important events and trends of the past year and to forecast what we are likely to see in the year ahead.

We called on key executives from leading companies involved in domain monetization (PPC), aftermarket sales, finance, domain registration and development, as well as domain attorneys, top portfolio owners and trade show organizers to fill you in on where the industry has been and where it is going now.

The full article is available here: http://www.dnjournal.com/cover/2007/january.htm

Domaining, on the cusp.

Very motivating article. Great coverage of most aspects of the domain business. Some issues were not covered that seem to need a voice.

What are auction houses doing to grow visitors and improve the quanity of domains sold? That ratio is pitiful and the industry does not seem to spend much revenue in garnering end users. The result? The biggest auction houses with millions of domains for sale are reportiing around a half dozen to a little more than a dozen selling daily.

Then too how is Afternic doing after making such a huge new policy change?

I will say the many interviews and the people involved are inspiring. The domain business has a short history. The projected thoughts from all is we are in for a spectacular growth chart and I am happy to be involved.

Another observation is many who have been involved in the internet growth have a mature focus and have seen its history. That said I am amazed at the success of the young business leaders, proving the domain industry can adapt to whatever is coming.

Wonderful, indepth reporting Duke, many thanks!
