.net vs .org | For my new website

Whats better .net or .org, and why? (include a reason, why)

I own some very premium open source and network related domain names in .com and secondly have always preferred .org over .net in that niche. So .org is what I would go with especially if it's for a non-profit. The .org naturally legitimizes the effort and from my experience, pulls in more type through traffic then .net for the open network niches.

I would suggest you org, but it's always good to have .net and .com redirected to your main or website. It's good for SEO to have a pack of domains. Another tip, register domains for longer time period (at least 2 years), just to show to google you are serious with your project. There aren't many posts about this on internet, but this will really help to grow your SEO.
