Hello Domainers,
Yesterday I bought a domain (YogaBooth.com) from GoDaddy Closeouts. I did a Open Corporates search and found that there is a similar company (The Yoga Booth) in Ohio offering wellness services. There were also some social handles that were named "YogaBooth".
I would like to know from experienced members if the above entities would pursue a UDRP if I try to sell it in a domain aftermarket place. As of now, there is no formal trademark registration in USPTO TESS or WIPO. But when I asked DeepSeek or ChatGPT for advice, they told me the safest way to avoid a lawsuit is to drop it or not buy in the first place. The AI Models claimed that the risk of UDRP is moderate to high, and advised me to not sell it.
Is this sound advice? Does that mean if anybody uses similar keywords in a domain publicly, I can't buy or register it? If so, aren't many "promising" domains are off the table for investing?
Thanks!
