Need help

I pushed a domain to a buyer I met on another forum and the guy still has not paid. I only did this because I had just joined the forum and the guy refused to pay me before he got the name becasue I had 0 posts and 0 trader ratings. So i thought that was fair especially since this guy has been a member of said forum for a long time and had 100% positive feedback. What i want to know is 1) can i contact Godaddy and have them return the name to me? and 2) How would I go about doing this?
3) If not, what other course of action can i take to recover either my domain or the payment? Thanks in advance for your help

ie. email, pm, telephone and if so what was his response ?

yes I have. Its been 7 going on 8 days now.

If he's been on line since you have sent him PM's,
send him one more and tell him if he doesn't repond in X amount of time,
you will start posting in the forums of how he scammed you.

and if he still doesn't respond - post his username in the forum it happened
in and then everywhere else.

Keep in mind, his account "could" have been hacked, so do some digging first.

not much you can do to get your domain back. GoDaddy won't be much of a help.

If the whois has changed to him, then I think GoDaddy will do nothing to help.

Quite frankly this should be a lesson learned. Escrow exists to prevent this very problem.

Have you tried to contact the mods? Especially if he has a positive reputation on that forum, I think you can try to solve the problem letting the forum staff contact him.

Agree with mis_chiff. When you feel that you have exhausted all reasonable methods to resolve this, Name and Shame. You would be helping the community.

Once more, this is why Escrow exists. Yes, it does take a bit out of the profit margins, but it prevents scenarios like this from happening. The only times I use paypal without escrow is if I know the person I am dealing with, or they have a reputation that is beyond value of a transaction. For instance, who would try to defraud someone if it meant their reputation was shattered?
