Need help with Wordpress

This is in regards to my site

I want my users to be able to create 1 post or page to act as their car's profile page so others can view it and rate what they see. Another person told me to make a posts page (Currently DSM Profiles) and allow users to create/edit posts. The thing is i only want them to be able to create/edit their own single post. Otherwise they could mess other peoples profile up and spam etc. I tried downloading a user role editor but it didn't have anything to limit the number of posts. Any ideas? Thanks

P.S. I posted this on the Wordpress support forum but it doesn't seem like anyone actually answers all of those questions.

EDIT: I have another (i think easy question), i just don't wanna make another thread. Is there a way to remove the links to child pages from the parent page? The default links are just way too bulky and unattractive. See Tech Articles page.

Ok so i've been playing around a lot with members plugins but i still have nothing. Does anyone know where i can find some help? Thanks

Did you sort out the child page links? You could remove those by editing the corresponding template file in your theme folder.


You could set it up so that each user who signs up has a page automatically made for them...kinda like user profiles. They could then only update their profiles? There might be a mod for something like that but it would need alterations.

Yeah, that would work perfectly if each user had a page made specifically for them and only they could edit it (and me of course). Is there a plug in for that or something?

EDIT: I found a way to fix the child page links, thanks for your help. I am still wondering about the user created pages/content though.

I'm not sure, you could get someone to code you one? I was thinking something a little like this?

(But modified with custom items and brought to the latest wp version).

If you're not going to have many users you could just set up a page for the ones you want and use a role editor to just give them permissions to edit the page you create?

I'll check out that plug in. I hope to have a lot of users once my website gets more visitors and info on it. Manually adding pages would be a pain.
