I am fairly new to this business. Can someone experienced help me with my questions below:

I am in the process of acquiring several parked domain names that currently have revenue. my question is: under what circumstance will the revenue not be able to sustain comparing to the last couple of months prior to my purchase?
Assuming that I am parked at the same site as the previous owner. I understand that if it is a TM name, it can get taken away at any time and you are out of luck, I also uinderstand that if the name is somehting that is only popular currently (ie Katrina.com) that over time it will be less popular and obviously receive less revenue.

I am a little worried that since most of the parked domains are currently demanding anywhere between 15 months to as high as 48 months revenue, what are the odds for a severe drop in monthly revenue assuming I am not hit with TM issues or don't touch current event names.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

what you're asking has a large and complicated answer...i'll try to take a stub by recommending the following:

(1) if domain has TM issues (CD court orders/etc.) my recommendation is to stay away
(2) if it's high value domain use escrow.com and plan to have a test-drive with the owner where you
(3) traffic on a domain can come through a variety of sources (type-in, directory listings, etc.). If the domain has type-in value i.e. myspaec.com was just sold $8K the traffic should be sustained. If the domain has traffic from in-bound links from Google/Yahoo/etc and has a PageRank > 3 then there's a chance that you'll lose all traffic when Google updates its PR
(4) Traffic websites usually get anywhere from 9 to 36 months but 36 months would be for a very high-end/quality typo (similar to the one I mentioned above)

I'd be happy to give you further assistance, PM me if you don't want to disclose the domain you're considering buying..

rgds,
SM

If they provide, 2-4 months worth of revenue screenshots, is it likely they are pumping it somehow to dump it? And wouldnt that be risky for the seller if they plan on staying in the business if they end up either being banner for invalid clicks or get a bad name in this small community?

check the way back machine and see if they have a history and what kind.

If something is producing a good income I would always question why they are selling. I realize that communication can be a bit difficult sometimes so your best work is done by yourself. Such as Google the pages. Go there first so they easily show up as visited.

You can also do a multiple search engine test using the specific domain but I forgot the url for that one. Anyone..?

traffic source is very important.

You should be away if it has TM issues.
