Need Help Assessing Traffic...

Hi,

I have a hyphenated .com as in: word1-word2.com

Using the Overture Keyword Selector Tool, this two word phrase has a count of 2,932.

My questions are, 1) Does that mean the DOMAIN -without the hyphen- as in:
word1word2.com gets a lot of traffic? (I do not own this domain without hyphen)

Does that indicate that my domain-with the hyphen-COULD get some decent traffic if parked?

Should I park it at Sedo and see?

Too vague to be able to say - but seeing as you've got the name, why not just park it and find out?

Jasdon,

The only reason I am reluctant is because its at Network Solutions and you have to pay $12 for web fowarding (in order to park). I COULD transfer the domain to my Namecheap account where I can 'foward for free' so to speak.

I didn't mean to be vauge, perhaps knowing the domain will help me get advice:

The domain I own is: student-teaching.com

On the Overture Keyword Selector Tool "student teaching" has a score of somewhere around 2900.

Do you think that my version of the domain with the hyphen will actually get some traffic/clicks?

I don't have any names at NetSol...but can't you change nameservers?

But the traffic probably's not much...I got one hyphen name with decent keywords but the traffic's not spectacular. :td: But the occasional visitor's adsense click payout's insane. :tu:

It doesnt necessarily mean that the non hyphenated domain will get traffic. There are 2 word .coms with 2000+ overture that get menial typeins. You should be able to change nameservers at Netsol to test it at a parking co without messing around with forwarding.

Hey Gang,

Really, I just need to change Nameservers? I didn't think you could do that at Netsol WITHOUT purchasing hosting?

Do I just change nameservers to Sedo?

Can someone elaborate please? I have been buying Web Fowrading at 12 bucks per year per domain so that I could 'park' them at my Sedo account.

Yikes !

I have no domains with network solutions (thank god) but I do believe you just need to change the nameservers to sedo. If you click on your domain, there should be a control panel for each domain you own. Find "change nameserver" and click there. Sedo name servers are ns1.sedoparking.com, ns2.sedoparking.com. Hope this helps, gl..

Let me or any of the knowledgeable staff/regular members here know if you have any other questions, most the time any question you have relating to domains/ppc/etc.. can be answered. :tu: btw...
