I started domaining in February of this year, I consider myself a newbie so I hope you don't mind if I answer your questions.
1. What is the biggest challenge you faced joining the domain industry?
Finding the money to buy all the worthless names I bought at first (All newbies do it...we register horrid names)
2. What did you find the easiest to understand?
Premium names, why certain ones are worth more as in one word nouns that are consumer products.
3. How often do you spend a week with domain names?
Every day, I spend most of my free time thinking of domains, searching for domains and reading about domaining.
4. Have you sold any domains yet? If so for how much and did you make profit?
Yes I have sold one 3 character .net on Sedo for $400 and various others for $XX - $XXX on forums and yes I have made a profit on all sales.
5. What are you confused about still?
The redemption, expiring etc time periods.
6. Would an eBook on all of this help you? Would you buy one or want it free?
Not sure, I have seen a lot of Ebooks out there and they are mostly on how to make money in an instant and how you can be a millionaire overnight so I don't pay much attention to them. Good luck with your venture though.
7. Did you register names or buy them from other users?
Both! I like to search names at the registrar and I sometimes find gems. I like to see what others are selling on the forums and buy the names I really like that they no longer want.
8. If you registered where at and why? (It not this does not apply)
I register at Godaddy, they've been really good to me, quick customer support.
9. Do you think that it is fun selling domains?
Yes I love domaining, buying AND selling, I love words! I find it thrilling.
10. What programs do you use regarding domains (such as Overture, URLtrends, ect)?
I use Overture, google, Sedo to research names.
10. Do you understand expired domains?
Oh I understand how they can expire but I have problems with the whole process and the time limits as I mentioned above.
11. Why did you get into the domain industry?
Many reasons:
~I love computers, I am a computer nut
~I am a webmaster so I like to collect them to maybe develope later
~I love words and I can be creative with them
~It's a bit like gambling in that you can make quite a profit though each new name isn't very expensive and it lasts a whole year
~I get a thrill when I find a name I like and register it

~I am obsessive compulsive
~I quit smoking in Jan. and this helps me get my mind off of it
