Apparently namesilo has just started charging sales tax. This morning I was transferring a domain (.biz) from godaddy and registering new .ca domain and when I reached my cart there was a 13% sales tax added for both domains. Chatted briefly with their support and at first they were surprised about it. Their initial reaction was you shouldn't be charged a tax since you are in Canada, then they quickly changed their tune to now we have to charge tax to Canadians. Looking for suggestions on new registrars. I appreciate any feedback you have experienced with other registrars, both positive and negative, and to be honest price is important to me in the decision process. I came across sav.com, but little hesitant based on what I have read so far. Also looked at porkbun, but I don't think they integrate with Afternic and Sedo, if you choose to offer them for sale.
Are the other companies charging tax as well? From my experience with godaddy they have only charged me tax on .ca.
