NamePros Traffic Falling since this goofy advert is running

I stopped in after being out 3-4 days because of this goofy ad running.. I was wondering how many others felt the same way..and did a check ..

If NP needs to make some money, then may I suggest that it offer a Skin for a Day promotion. For $99 (or whatever floats your boat), you get your own skin on NP for a day (24 hours). That could generate an extra $36,000+ a year in revenue for NP.

That's an interesting idea. However, I think that it would be a little distracting and would take away from "business as usual" that we all love about this site. The amount of posts and time we've spent talking about the different advertising campaigns on here have probably cost us $$. As we all know time is

But ya, we have a new skin now which is much better than the other one. Ive only been here for a bit, and the red ricklatino theme did look sorta like some prostitute theme lol :tri:

Definately better theme now, much easier to the eyes, this cool minty color :kickass:

wwesn, i think you shouldn't use such words. Mike is right, this place is here for free. It's really a great community. It's not asking too much from us (the users), just a change in template. Not like they are having pop-ups or charging you a fee like other domaining forum?

And apart from that NP is a place where there are quality posts about current domain and the internet issues. The moderators are doing a good job too.

i honestly think these green and orange colors are a bit annoying to me and other people. threads i expected to have new posts and stuff are lagging behind and not even showing up. why? well it wasn't like that b4 all these started, and now it started, its happening, so go figure. but i do understand. everyone has to make money and stuff. this is capitalism after all.

I haven't visited NamePros in sometime, but when I returned today the first thing I noticed were these "Brought to you by..." commercials, and it seemed like NamePros had been bought by a different company at first. To me, it doesn't really bother me if we have "Brought to you by..." backgrounds and banners, but I guess the reason many people are stating they don't like the change is because NamePros might lose the domain name "culture" webmaster community it had (and still has, to some extent). The reason I was kind of put off was because I thought it was bought by a different company, but now I understand that its just a type of marketing RJ is doing. Just my two cents .

I was actually already looking forward to seeing the next theme. :D I find the themes interesting (not necessarily good nor bad). Many of us are here for professional reasons. These themes have not changed the functionality of this forum, so I don't understand why some people in here are actually THAT bothered. =/
