.... red invokes anger, aggression, passion, excitement and violence. It raises your blood pressure and increases your respiratory rate.
That explains these funny feelings and strange urges I've been having lately.

If I do something crazy, just remember.... NamePros made me do it.

If you want a say in NP's financial decisions, howabout you contribute towards the server costs?

My usage of this forum is helping pay for the server costs. I have a valid point, whether you wish to accept it or not.

In what way?

NamePros would not be successful without its members.

Our contributions to the forum are what generates income for NamePros. Since the forum depends on its members, I would have thought that you'd discuss the change with us.

Although the analogy is kind of a stretch, creating the new advertising method without consulting members is similar to "taxation without representation". ;)

See, that's the problematic logic.

Although I don't have any problems with the layout, I can see why some people are getting frustrated. NamePros is successful not only because of RJ, but because of its members. If it wasn't for its members, NamePros would be completely dead.

Therefore, members should be contributing to the NamePros financial decisions.

A couple of things, NamePros has members that are very loyal, that WILL NOT leave this community. It is a family thing, hard to explain.

I personally, and i would venture to say, many others would agree, wouldn't want to make NamePros financial decisions, Nor do members have any right to do so. NamePros is a free to join community, with many benefits to it's members.

Hey..

I think we should have a few more extra skins with difference colours... just get rid of the ricklatona.com splattered all over it!

Nice to see a change in my opinion..

Joe.

Of course members shouldn't make the financial decisions. I would think that NP Staff should at least consult with members beforehand, :imho:.

Given the nature of the unique sponsorship ... and that it's not perpetual ... I don't think consulatation and approval from the community was necessary, IMHO. I do think RJ and Staffโ„ข are being entirely open here in allowing for all opinions and commentary and feedback on the current sponsorship, and will use these comments in the future. Also, had something more long-term occurred, I think additional commentary would have been sought from the membership - believe me, RJ and Staffโ„ข (and Emeritusยฉ ) care very deeply for the #1 Communityโ„ข and has always been open and willing to seek input and opposing views, constructive comments, and so forth! :xf.love: :imho:

Just my two sense.

I don't think it's so much the colors causing the complaints but the territorial instinct. Dis Og house. Og no like intrudar. Og get club. :)

i dunno.... a lot of

forums change backrounds,I have seen some that look really nice and actually improve upon the looks .one is a adult forum that is well know,I would kind of like to use their metalic grey textured backround on a site of my own sometime..They sometimes change it for promotions but they never had anything this loud ;and that is adult forum!

people dont like sudden changes... but i cant understand that some found it so disturbing... i dont care a bit about it? i mean everyone is here cause they want to make money, but they dont want the guys that run the site (for all of us to enjoy n make cash) to be allowed to make money... ridiculous

I didn't read through all the posts, but here's what I think.

I've gotten used to the layouts. They don't bother me because I'm here for business for the most part. It costs money to run this site, and this maybe the best way to get that needed cash. Would y'all rather him charge a membership fee like DN Forum?

Probably one of the best points made here yet.

I guess i contributed to the increase in login after the ads were displayed BECAUSE I WANTED TO FIND OUT WAT HAPPENED TO NP! I thought it has been taken over bu some RED HOT company. hahaha. those funky red hot template kinda puts me off.

But i guess i'm alright with this new digipawn.com template. it's much better (for the eyes too!)

Just think how happy you will be when it does go back to the regular format. As for me I kinda miss the orange and red. It was a nice change for a while :hehe:

I am still awaiting the pink and purple layout option!

I think they should have given notice that the site would look different (they did not need to seek permission or approval). Again, I was mostly concerned about the site being hacked. Now, someone could hack the site and everyone would think it was a promotion.

Since there are so many, that are just here to make a buck any way

Is that not what they are doing pimping out the forum skin to the highest bidder?

It's commonly called advertising, target group acquisition and being in business.
You're here for free. No charge, not even when you pimp your domains for sale - a little bit of respect towards what's being offered to you would make a lot more sense than your statement. :|

Alternative Revenue Source

If NP needs to make some money, then may I suggest that it offer a Skin for a Day promotion. For $99 (or whatever floats your boat), you get your own skin on NP for a day (24 hours). That could generate an extra $36,000+ a year in revenue for NP.
