Namejet wishlist

Hi all

Just a quick question i hope somebody knows the answer too.

Basically if theres a domain on a namejet wishlist and own that domain what would happen if i listed it on namejet??

Would the person who added it to their wishlist automatically become the first bidder? Or would they just be notified of the auction?

Guess is the same as "watching"

Both. They'll get notified of the listing (via a pre-release e-mail - sample below) and also be a bidder. If they are the sole wishlist "adder", they'll win the domain unless there's a reserve and their wishlist bid is lower than the reserve.

This is not clear to me. Are you saying that a domain is owned by Person A and it is in their wishlist but you will list the domain in your namejet account (and you're not Person A) ?

Sample E-mail:

Dear NameJet Customer (<nj-username>):

We are happy to inform you that a domain name you Backordered as a Wish List item is about to become available and is now entering a Pre-Release status.

Domain Name: domain.com

Monitor your Backorder bids at:

Thank you for using our domain name aftermarket services.

As this email is not monitored, please visit our support center at http://www.namejet.com/Pages/Support.aspx if you have any questions or to contact us.

Sample E-mail:

No, if im person B, so im the one that actually owns the domain name. And i look on namejet and see that Person A has added the domain to their wishlist.

Okay. Thanks for clarification. I have a question though: How can you see if someone has added a domain to their wishlist? I wasn't aware there was such a feature

Just replace the domain name in this URL (I picked a random LLL.net) and you'll see "Bid History":

http://www.namejet.com/Pages/Auctions/BackorderDetails.aspx?domainname=qxz.net

What you said is correct. If OP lists the domain on NJ it will start with however many bids it had in wish list status, and each user who had a wish list backorder will be emailed.

Some users may subsequently remove their backorders though, potentially leaving you with none. That said, backorders above the min can't be removed once Pre-Release starts. So in the example I gave above it's guaranteed to be at least $109 because that person can't remove the back order once the name is listed, only while it was still wish list status.

register something similar and dangle it like a donkey with a carrot and see what happens.

Interesting trick... This is going to prove quite useful.
Edit: I checked the url and it shows the number of bids and not who backordered it/has it in their wishlist right?

I assumed from the Op's post that there's a specific user "Person A" (as I nicknamed) who they want to target. It is not possible to identify if Person A does have the domain on their wishlist, is it?

No, theres no way of seeing who has bid until it goes into auction status
