NameJet - Very strange thing

Yesterday I've put a minimum backorder bid ($69) on one of the names. I was the the first (the only one) who placed a backorder on this name. I'm sure in 1000% that I was the first and the only one!

Around 8 hours ago when the possibility of putting backorder was closed I checked my backorder and found that I'm THE ONLY ONE who placed the backorder.

Now I'm getting the message that the auction is started. WTF!!!
I checked and correct there is an auction, and there is one more bidder, who placed also $69 bid, and I'm loosing (cause according to auction data he placed the bid before me)!!!

Now 2 questions.
1. How is possible that I'm loosing if I put the first bid?
2. How is possible that after backorder period was closed - the other person placed a backorder?

Anybody had such situations?

I haven't experienced that to be honest, but be sure that NJ will do everything they can to squeeze as much money as they can out of every possible backorder.
I wouldn't be surprised if they were bidding to or things like that ( like GD was doing... )
I think it's also quite confusing that some domains are really dropped names while many others come from private listings...

The other bidder is known for me (his username). Sometimes I was in the auctions against him.

Ask him when he put his backorder in.
If there are no bidders on a name you are interested in why put in an early bid and attract attention.
The smart money puts their bid down at the 11th hour and final minute and that's possibly what happened here so might have appeared he came after the close.
If you are the only bidder when an auction closes take a quick screen shot to bolster your case..

Well I placed an early bid cause I'm in Europe - i just wanted to sleep ))
As for the printscreens - I'll do them from now.
